Job summary

Techila Global is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer/Lead Automation Engineer in Pune. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable Playwright-based automation frameworks with AI-assisted development tools.

You will create automated tests across UI, API, and end-to-end workflows, and integrate them within CI/CD pipelines to accelerate quality engineering across web platforms. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in testing and automation, strong JavaScript/TypeScript

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software testing and test automation experience.

The ideal candidate will have a quality-first mindset, strong automation skills, and experience using AI-powered development tools to accelerate test automation delivery, improve code quality, and enhance productivity.Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reusable automated test frameworks using Playwright. • Create automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and smoke testing. • Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and QA teams to understand requirements and define test automation strategies. • Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing. • Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent to improve automation development efficiency. • Review and optimize AI-generated code to ensure maintainability, reliability, and compliance with coding standards. • Analyze test execution results, investigate failures, and work with development teams to resolve defects. • Develop automation solutions for API, UI, and end-to-end business workflows. • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and Agile ceremonies. • Maintain automation documentation, reusable libraries, standards, and best practices. • Contribute to automation strategy, framework improvements, and quality engineering transformation initiatives. • Mentor team members on automation best practices and emerging AI-assisted testing techniques.Required Skills & Competencies Test Automation • Strong hands-on experience in Playwright with JavaScript or TypeScript. • Experience in creating and maintaining robust automation frameworks. • Strong understanding of: o UI Automation Testing o API Testing o End-to-End Testing o Cross-browser Testing o Regression Automation o Data-driven and Keyword-driven Automation • Experience with test reporting and dashboarding tools.
