Job summary

Worldline in Chennai, India seeks a Senior Test Engineer to lead QA across software products. The role emphasizes test strategy, automation, and collaboration with product teams to ensure high-quality deliveries.

The candidate will design test plans, develop automated scripts, and mentor junior testers. A strong background in API and UI testing, plus familiarity with CI/CD and Agile practices, is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, IT, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Software Testing and QA.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, test design techniques, and defect lifecycle management.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, UFT, or similar.
• Experience in API testing using Postman, ReadyAPI, Rest Assured, or equivalent tools.
• Knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or ALM.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing efforts.
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts.
• Identify, document, track, and verify defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, and project managers to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
• Review requirements and design documents to ensure testability and quality standards.
• Analyze test results and provide quality metrics and status reports to stakeholders.
• Mentor junior testers and provide technical guidance on testing best practices.
• Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to release planning activities.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Test Engineer to lead quality assurance activities across software applications and platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in test strategy, test automation, defect management, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

Who Are We Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, test design techniques, and defect lifecycle management.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, UFT, or similar.
• Experience in API testing using Postman, ReadyAPI, Rest Assured, or equivalent tools.
• Knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or ALM.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Performance Testing using JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
• Experience leading QA/testing initiatives for large-scale enterprise applications.
