Job summary

Fluor Corporation in India seeks a senior Telecommunications Engineer to lead medium-scale projects in EPC environments, delivering design analyses, calculations, and system specifications.

You will review RF/WLAN/PA coverage, CCTV data flows, and contribute to FEED through FAT/ISAT; certification in RCDD or CCNA/CCNP preferred; 11+ years of experience required.

Qualifications

• Accredited four year degree or global equivalent in engineering.
• Minimum of eleven years of work-related experience as Telecommunications Engineer in the EPC field/industry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
• Professional registration (preferred).
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform system studies (RF/WLAN/PA coverage, CCTV data traffic analyses, distributed storage, bandwidth calculations).
• Develop telecommunication system/equipment specifications (RF/WLAN, telephony, OCS, SCS).
• Develop installation cost estimates and location philosophy guidelines; review project scope.
• Perform calculations and create schematics and wiring diagrams for telecommunication systems.
• Develop integrated telecommunication and physical security systems across project phases from FEED to FAT/ISAT.

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position supports the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques to a medium set of moderately difficult assignments.

• Perform system studies (e.g., Radio Frequency (RF) and/or Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and/or Public Address (PA) coverage, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) data traffic analyses and distributed storage, and network bandwidth allocations calculations)
• Develop telecommunication system/equipment specifications (e.g., RF/WLAN, telephony, Outside Cable System (OCS), Structured Cabling Systems (SCS), weather monitoring)
• Develop telecommunication equipment location philosophy and guidelines based upon project area classifications and design documents; develop installed cost estimates
• Perform/review calculations (such as RF and/or WLAN and/or PA coverage, CCTV data traffic analyses and distributed storage, network bandwidth allocations) and telecommunication systems schematics and wiring diagrams
• Intermediate knowledge and experience to develop small to medium size project’s integrated telecommunication systems and physical security systems; ability to use skills and experience to develop and review project Scope of Services and Scope of Facilities for all phases of projects from Front End Engineering Development (FEED) to detailed design Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Integrated Site Acceptance Testing (ISAT)
• Certifications from Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), The International Association for Radio, Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) or Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) or similar organizations
• Certifications from major manufacturers such as CISCO, Motorola, and others; Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), or similar

Basic Job Requirements
