Job summary

Yotta Infrastructure in Dadri (India) is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee stable and secure IT infrastructure operations, with emphasis on passive and network cabling. You will design, implement, and maintain structured cabling within data centers and collaborate with engineers and project managers on cabling initiatives.

The role requires hands-on termination, testing, and documentation of cable routes and pathways, plus adherence to relevant codes and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in data center cabling and structured cabling systems.
• Hands-on termination of jack panels, patch panels, I/O, RJ-45, Krone modules.
• Knowledge of fiber and copper cables and related testing tools.
• Familiar with SDH and WDM/DWDM technologies and standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and implementing structured cabling systems in the data center environment.
• Create and review cable pathway designs for infrastructure cabling.
• Develop and maintain cabling standards and best practices with compliance to industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to plan cabling projects.
• Prepare project plans, timelines, resources, and risk assessments.
• Ensure cabling work meets design, safety, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot cabling issues and document routes, terminations, and tests.
• Prepare reports on project status and performance metrics.
• Ensure adherence to data center safety and security protocols.
• Mentor junior staff on passive cabling best practices.

Job description

Job Scope:

To ensure the stable and secure operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly passive infrastructure, network infrastructure, data communications.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and implementing structured cabling systems in the data center environment.
• Create and review overhead and under-ground/floor cable pathway designs for infrastructure cabling.
• Develop and maintain standards and best practices for cabling, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g. TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC).
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to plan and execute cabling projects.
• Prepare detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
• Ensure that all cabling work, including rack, pathway and termination work is performed according to design and standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to cabling, including signal loss and connectivity problems.
• Ensure accurate documentation of cable routes, termination points, and testing results.
• Prepare reports on project status, performance metrics and any issues encountered during installation or maintenance.
• Ensure that all cabling work complies with data center safety and security protocols.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Assess current cabling infrastructure and plan for future expansion and upgrades.
• Support cross-functional initiatives and contribute to overall data center performance and reliability.
• Act as the escalation point for complex cabling-related issues that cannot be resolved by lower-level support.
• Provide training and guidance to junior staff members on best practices in passive cabling.

• Hands on Experience on Various kinds of Testing Equipment. Such as JDSU ANT-5 SDH Tester, Ethernet Tester, OTDR, Optical Laser Source, Optical Power meter, Multimeter, Sunrise & PC based E1 tester etc.
• Ability to work to deadlines and SLAs
• Good communication, problem resolution and decision-making skills
