Job summary

Arvind is seeking a seasoned structural steel detailer to join our team in Vadodara. You will develop accurate 3D models and shop drawings for industrial projects, focusing on tanks, platforms, ladders, and skids using Tekla Structures.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of AISC/AWS standards, extensive experience with steel detailing, and a track record in petrochemical, oil, gas, or storage tank projects. Proficiency in Advanced Steel is a plus; 35 years in the field is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 35 years of experience in structural steel detailing.
• Experience with petrochemical, oil & gas refineries, or storage tanks valued.
• Ability to interpret structural drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of steel connections design.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate 3D models and shop drawings for industrial projects using Tekla Structures.
• Design tank roof structures with rafters, tie beams, and curved beams.
• Create platforms and walkways around tanks with contour plates and beams.
• Model access systems including cage ladders and ship ladders as needed.
• Detail structural skids for oil & gas projects.
• Produce GA, assembly, and shop detail drawings for fabrication.
• Apply steel connections (splice, shear plates, bolted/welded) to components.
• Utilize Tekla components such as Ladder (S35), Cage Ladder (S60), and railing tools.
• Ensure compliance with design specs and drafting standards.

Job description

• 1) Develop accurate 3D models and shop drawings for industrial projects, specializing in steel storage tanks, supporting structures, roof platforms, access ladders, and equipment skids using Tekla Structures.
• 2) Tank Roof Structure: Creating rafters, tie beams, and curved beams for tank tops.
• 3) Platforms & Walkways: Designing walkways around tanks using contour plates and walkway beams.
• 4) Access Systems: Modeling cage ladders and, at times, ship ladders for vertical access.
• 5) Skids/Modules: Detailed modelling of structural skids for oil & gas projects.
• 6) 3D Modeling: Create detailed 3D models of steel structures, including tanks, platforms, and skids.
• 7) Component Detailing: Model roof platforms, walkways, handrails, and cage ladders, ensuring compliance with design specs
• 8) Fabrication Drawings: Generate GA (General Arrangement) drawings, assembly drawings, and shop detail drawings for fabrication.
• 9) Connection Design: Apply steel connections (splice, shear plates, bolted/welded) for platform beams and tank components.
• 10) Component Utilization: Use specialized Tekla components like Ladder (S35), Cage Ladder (S60), and Railing tools.
• 11) Software Proficiency:Strong experience in Tekla Structures (Advanced Steel is sometimes acceptable).
• 12) Technical Knowledge:Understanding of AISC, AWS, or related design standards.
• 13) Drafting Knowledge:Ability to interpret structural engineering drawings and specifications.
• 14) Experience:35 years in structural steel detailing (specific experience with petrochemical, Oil & gas refenaries, or storage tanks is highly valued)
