Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery across PDCL phases.
  • Define scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Maintain project charters, plans, schedules, RAID logs, and governance docs.
  • Provide status reporting to PMO and governance committees.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Ensure delivery within budget, scope, time and quality targets.

Job description

The Technology Project Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of technology projects using Waterfall and Project Delivery Lifecycle (PDCL) methodologies. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards while maintaining compliance with organisational governance frameworks and controls.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, architects, vendors, and PMO functions to drive successful project outcomes and support strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Governance
  • Lead end-to-end project delivery across all phases of the Project Delivery Lifecycle (PDCL).
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource requirements, and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain key project documentation, including:
    • Project Charters
    • Project Plans and Schedules
    • Resource Plans
    • Budget Tracking and Forecasts
    • RAID Logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)
    • Governance and Change Control Documentation
  • Ensure adherence to PMO standards, governance frameworks, and organisational controls.
  • Provide regular project status reporting to governance committees and senior stakeholders.
Technical Delivery Management
  • Manage the delivery of complex technology initiatives involving multiple workstreams and technical teams.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including:
    • Solution Architects
    • Developers
    • Infrastructure Teams
    • Test Managers and Testers
    • Business Analysts
    • External Vendors
  • Oversee project execution through design, build, testing, deployment, and production readiness activities.
  • Ensure delivery milestones and technical quality standards are achieved.
Risk, Quality & Change Management
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Develop mitigation and contingency plans to minimise project impacts.
  • Ensure project scope changes are appropriately assessed, approved, and documented following formal change control processes.
  • Monitor project quality throughout the Project Delivery Lifecycle.
  • Ensure successful completion of all project Assurance gates.
  • Manage project budgets and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project expenditure and ensure delivery within approved financial constraints.
  • Manage resource allocations and capacity planning across project teams.
  • Identify resource gaps and coordinate resolution with management and stakeholders.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, issues, and decisions effectively at all organisational levels.
  • Facilitate governance forums, steering committees, and project review meetings.
  • Drive timely decision-making and resolution of project challenges.
  • Manage third-party suppliers, vendors, and system integrators, including:
    • Contract Management
    • Milestone Tracking
    • Delivery Oversight
Financial & Resource Management
  • Manage project budgets and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project expenditure and ensure delivery within approved financial constraints.
  • Manage resource allocations and capacity planning across project teams.
  • Identify resource gaps and coordinate resolution with management and stakeholders.
Key Skills & Competencies
Project Management
  • Strong project planning, execution, and governance capabilities.
  • Extensive experience managing projects using Waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Project Delivery Lifecycles and Project Delivery Lifecycle PDLC) frameworks.
  • Experience with project governance and portfolio management tools such as Planview (desirable).
