Carrier Global Corporation is seeking a Technology Manager - Embedded Platforms in Hyderabad. You will drive the strategy and governance of a common embedded software platform that accelerates product development across the organization.

You will lead a team of engineers, promote software reuse, and ensure architectural standardization, while enabling platform adoption across business units. Strong leadership and deep embedded expertise are essential for success.

Qualifications

• BE/ME or BTech/MTech in Electronics or CS with 16+ years of experience.
• Strong Embedded Linux (Yocto) and RTOS (FreeRTOS) expertise.
• Proficient in software architecture, design patterns, and build systems.
• Experience with device drivers, HALs, middleware and BSPs.
• Proven ability to lead global cross‑functional teams.
• Experience with ARM MPUs/MCUs/SoCs and memory optimizations.
• Hands‑on with GNU cross‑compilation, CMake, and embedded toolchains.
• Led teams using Scrum/Kanban/SAFe; familiar with DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of AI‑driven DevOps, monitoring, and observability.
• Experience deploying ML models on resource‑constrained embedded devices.

About the role

Highly motivated Technology Manager responsible for leading the strategy, development, governance, and adoption of a common embedded software platform that accelerates product development across the organization. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills to drive software reuse, architectural standardization, engineering productivity, and platform adoption.

Key Responsibilities

• Embedded Platform Strategy: Define and execute the embedded software platform roadmap aligned with business and product strategies.
• Technical Leadership: Drive engineering excellence through architecture guidance, best practices, coding standards, and design reviews.
• Team Management: Develop, Lead, mentor and manage a team of embedded software engineers, ensuring predictable delivery of platform roadmap commitments.
• Reusable Software Development: Lead development of reusable, modular, configurable, scalable, and maintainable software components.
• Organizational Enablement: Develop and execute strategies to increase platform adoption across business units and product teams.
• Program & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Product Management, Systems Engineering, Regional Software Engineering, Product Security and Program Management teams to manage technology risks, dependencies, and execution plans.

Required Qualifications

• Qualifications: BE/ME or BTech/MTech – Electronics or BE/BTech in Electronics or ME/MTech in computer Science with 16+ years of experience in below areas:
• Strong experience with Embedded Linux (Yocto-based) and RTOS (FreeRTOS) based embedded systems.
• Experience in Software architecture and design patterns.
• Well‑versed with Device Drivers, Hardware Abstraction Layers, Middleware’s and Board Support Packages (BSPs).
• Experience working with cross‑functional global teams.
• Experience with different ARM series MPUs, MCUs and SoCs (NXP, TI, ST etc) including memory optimization and performance tuning principles.
• Deep understanding of GNU cross‑compilation environments, CMake, and embedded software build systems
• Proven experience leading teams within Agile development environments, leveraging methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe to drive predictable delivery and continuous improvement.
• Experience with modern DevOps practices and tools: test‑driven development, SCM, automated builds and tests and CI/CD preferably with Atlassian tools.
• Understanding of AI driven DevOps for Platform Engineering, Monitoring and Observability principles.
• Knowledge in deploying optimized machine learning models for resource‑constrained embeddd devices using frameworks like TensorFlow Lite, TinyML, or Edge Impulse

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud‑connected embedded IoT systems in the field of HVAC, industrial control or automotive.
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR or similar platform standardization frameworks.
• Experience in building Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) or software development ecosystems.
