Carrier Global Corporation is seeking a Senior Lead Engineer for its Embedded Platforms team in Hyderabad. You will drive Yocto-based Linux distributions across units, delivering robust software for embedded product applications.

The role requires 6+ years in C/C++, Linux, and embedded development, along with DevOps experience and cross-functional collaboration in a distributed team setting.

Qualifications

• BE/ME or BTech/MTech in Electronics or BE/BTech in Electronics or ME/MTech in CS with 6+ years' experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ software development and Linux-based systems.
• Hands-on with Linux OS, RTOS, multithreading and embedded platforms.

Responsibilities

• Development and migration of existing systems to Yocto-based platforms.
• Maintain and support the Yocto build system in a CI/CD environment, including packaging and deployment of software images.
• Configure, modify, and integrate the kernel and embedded boot loaders.
• Custom driver porting and applying patches to legacy packages.
• Develop embedded middleware, stacks, IPCs, and protocols drivers for Linux platforms.
• Research open-source solutions, perform performance analysis and root cause analysis.
• Design and maintain APIs and SDKs for other developers.
• Develop HALs to ensure portability across environments.
• Collaborate with Agile/SAFe teams and tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, IBM Jazz.

This position requires the ability to work under minimal direction, utilize coding skills and automation expertise, interact, and collaborate with diverse geographically distributed teams, and to establish best practice/guideline for Linux build and deployments.**JOB RESPONSIBILITY:*** Development and migration of existing systems to Yocto-based platforms* Maintain and support the Yocto build system in a CI/CD environment, including packaging and deployment of software images.
