Job summary

Kotak Mahindra Bank is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead engineering teams in Mumbai. You will guide architecture, deliver software products end-to-end, and align technical decisions with business goals in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• People Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and manage the performance of a team of software engineers. Conduct 1-on-1s, set career development goals, and foster a healthy, inclusive culture.
• Project Delivery: Own the software development life cycle (SDLC) from conception through architecture, testing, and deployment. Manage backlogs, prioritize features, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Technical Strategy: Guide system design, code quality, and technical vision. Ensure adoption of best practices like Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and DevOps
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the liaison between your technical team, product managers, upper management, and external stakeholders

Essential Requirements

• Education & Experience: Typically a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, combined with 10+ years of overall software engineering experience.
• Leadership Track: 3–5+ years in a formal engineering management or technical lead role, showcasing a track record of scaling high-performing teams.
• Technical Chops: Hands-on background in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++), distributed systems architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and strategic problem-solving abilities.
