Job Title: Pulmonology Technician
Location: Gurgaon

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Pulmonology Technician to support the Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Department. The incumbent will be responsible for performing and assisting with pulmonary diagnostic procedures, maintaining respiratory equipment, supporting pulmonologists during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and ensuring adherence to patient safety and infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pulmonary function tests (PFT), including Spirometry, Lung Volume Testing and Diffusion Capacity Tests, as per physician instructions.
  • Assist in conducting respiratory diagnostic procedures and investigations.
  • Prepare patients for pulmonary and respiratory diagnostic tests and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and cooperation.
  • Assist pulmonologists during procedures such as Bronchoscopy and other respiratory interventions, as required.
  • Monitor patients before, during and after procedures and promptly report any abnormal findings to the treating consultant.
  • Ensure proper operation, calibration and routine maintenance of pulmonary diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of procedure rooms and equipment.
  • Follow hospital protocols related to infection prevention, patient safety and biomedical waste management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, test records and patient reports.
  • Coordinate with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals for smooth functioning of the department.
  • Ensure adequate availability of consumables and inform the concerned authority regarding equipment or inventory requirements.
  • Handle emergency situations within the department and provide necessary technical assistance to the clinical team.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, departmental audits and accreditation requirements.
  • Train and guide junior technicians, when required.
Qualifications
  • Diploma / Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Therapy, Pulmonary Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Allied Health Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant certification or specialised training in pulmonary function testing will be preferred.
Experience & Skills
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience as a Pulmonology Technician or Respiratory Technician in a reputed hospital.
  • Hands-on experience in conducting PFT and Spirometry.
  • Experience in assisting with Bronchoscopy and respiratory procedures will be preferred.
  • Good knowledge of respiratory diagnostic equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Understanding of infection control and patient safety protocols.
  • Strong patient-handling and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency situations.
