Job summary

dsm-firmenich in Vadodara, India is seeking a Mechanical Technician to maintain plant machinery and utility equipment, performing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance. You will troubleshoot pumps, compressors, gearboxes, agitators, blowers, valves, and piping systems.

The ideal candidate has ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, 6–8 years of relevant experience, strong instrumentation knowledge, and hands-on experience with the listed equipment.

• 6 - 8 years of relevant industrial experience.
• Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation systems.
• Hands-on experience with pumps, compressors, gearboxes, agitators, blowers, valves, and piping systems.
• Familiar with GMP, safety protocols and standards.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and utility equipment.

• Carry out equipment overhauling, alignment, bearing replacement, and mechanical seal replacement.
• Support installation, commissioning, and modification of mechanical equipment.
• Execute shutdown maintenance activities and ensure timely completion of maintenance work.
• Follow safety procedures, LOTO requirements, and GMP standards during maintenance activities.
• Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and spare parts consumption data.
• Identify equipment failures, assist in root cause analysis, and implement reliability improvement actions.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and contractor teams to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

Note

We believe in building strong operational and business understanding from day one. Accordingly, the successful candidate will undertake a structured 4-month immersion program at our Daman Manufacturing Facility. Company-provided accommodation will be available throughout the training period. Upon completion, the employee will transition to Vadodara, which will be the designated permanent work location.
