Job summary

dsm-firmenich in Vadodara, India, is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to calibrate and maintain instruments, support PLC/SCADA/HMI/DCS systems, and ensure safe, compliant operation. The role includes installation, commissioning and root-cause analysis to minimize downtime.

The selected candidate will participate in a 4-month immersion at the Daman facility, with company-provided accommodation, before transitioning to Vadodara as the permanent site.

Qualifications

• ITI/ diploma in instrumentation engineering required.
• 6–8 years of relevant industrial experience.
• Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation systems.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, sensors, actuators and control systems.
• Familiar with safety protocols and standards.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate and maintain pressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments.
• Perform calibration, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of field instruments.
• Maintain and repair control valves, analyzers, weighing systems, pneumatic instruments and process control equipment.
• Support PLC, SCADA, HMI, and DCS systems with loop checking, I/O testing and basic troubleshooting.
• Execute installation, commissioning and modification of instrumentation and control systems.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of instrumentation failures to minimize downtime.
• Maintain calibration records, instrument history, loop diagrams and maintenance documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, GMP and quality standards.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams and control schematics.
• Understand VFDs, motors, MCCs and industrial electrical systems.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).

Your Key Responsibilities

• Calibration and maintenance of pressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments.
• Perform calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of field instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
• Maintain and repair control valves, analyzers, weighing systems, pneumatic instruments, and process control equipment.

Note
We believe in building strong operational and business understanding from day one. Accordingly, the successful candidate will undertake a structured 4-month immersion program at our Daman Manufacturing Facility. Company‑provided accommodation will be available throughout the training period. Upon completion, the employee will transition to Vadodara, which will be the designated permanent work location.
