Job summary

SABIC invites applications for a maintenance specialist in Electrical and Instrumentation. The role focuses on shift-based maintenance, downtimes reduction, and adherence to EHSS standards while coordinating with production and maintenance teams to ensure reliable plant operation.

You will work on PLC/SCADA integrations, LV/HV switchgear, RTUs, and control systems, with emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the CMPG Manufacturing site.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical engineering or equivalent
• Supervisor license is preferable
• Experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance in manufacturing environments
• Exposure to PLC/SCADA systems and industrial controls
• Shift-based maintenance experience
• Knowledge of EHSS procedures and compliance
• Experience with SAP or related maintenance systems

Responsibilities

• Electrical & instrumentation maintenance activities in shift aiming to reduce downtime and meet safety/quality goals.
• Coordinate with senior technicians, production and maintenance to resolve issues.
• Support shift supervisor and EHSS to sustain site performance and follow SOPs (LOTO, JSA, rules).
• Assist manufacturing teams in engagement activities to drive continual improvements.

Job Summary

• Electrical & instrumentation maintenance activities in shift & deliver maintenance department goals & objectives on downtime reduction, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, Industrial control system maintenance etc. with highest level of safety and quality.
• Needs to co-ordinate with Senior team members, production and maintenance to resolve operational issues.
• Support shift supervisor, EHSS to sustain site EHSS performance-follow SOP. LOTO, JSA, specific Dos & Dont's etc.
• Needs to support manufacturing team in various engagement activities to drive continual improvements.

How You Can Be the Impact

• Working in a team on shop floor involving hands on activity of Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, Lift and hoist, PLC, AC drive, DC drive.
• Trouble shooting of different temperature measuring RTD/Thermo couple, flow indicators and meters, level controls, process interlocks, control systems.
• Capable to handle to weighing related trouble shooting, Knowledge of measurement system, calibration & IATF/ISO: 16949 requirements. Power control station, HT breaker medium voltage ( 11000V ) substation power supply knowledge of basic trouble shooting , relay settings and distribution system, MV transformer, motor control centers, HVAC systems, transformer, lighting systems, HT /LT electrical equipment, experience on Control Logic, Micro Logic.
• Computer Literate on MS office, can read PLC logic drawings.
• Solid exposure on different safety systems like permit to work, LOTO, SOP & safety analysis. Can work with contractor & handle to individual shifts.
• Record keeping of maintenance management system, desirable to work on PM SAP module.

What Matters to SABIC (Job Requirements)

• Diploma – Electrical from recognized university/ Supervisor License – Preferable
• 5-6 years Preferable Polycarbonate / ABS compounding – extrusion / Manufacturing unit / Electrical Maintenance / Instrumentation or PLC, AC Drives maintenance.
• Electrical & Instrument maintenance.
• Experience of working in shifts maintenance.
• Should have experience with PLC & SCADA system.
• Must work with Low voltage switchgears & High Tension switchgears up to 11 KV.
• Must have knowledge with instrumentation system, controls & Interlock system.
• Good learning skills-
• Good interpersonal skills - working in co-ordination with other sub functions of Manufacturing - Influence
• Strong inclination towards EHSS procedure compliance
• Required to work in shift hours, Having hand on experience on Microsoft office & preferable experience with SAP module. Prefer to have government approved electrical supervisor license & permit.
