Job summary

The Lubrizol Corporation in India seeks a Production Operator to ensure shift production targets are achieved while prioritising safety, quality and continuous improvement across the plant.

You will operate process equipment and DCS, record parameters, manage raw materials, assist in maintenance and ERP drills, and contribute to RCA, risk assessments and PSSR processes to drive safer, more efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in batch or continuous operations in chemical and compounding.
  • Experience operating DCS and process instruments.
  • Exposure to Quality Management Systems and EHS practices.
  • Exposure to 5S.
  • SAP experience is an advantage.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily production targets with shift operation team.
  • Operate process plant equipment and maintain the process parameters through DCS.
  • Record process parameters in predefined formats and in SAP Systems.
  • Arranging raw materials at the charging point, verification and charging of raw materials.
  • Field troubleshooting, visual inspection to detect defects or malfunctions and attend breakdowns of plant equipments with support from maintenance team.
  • Support for Preventive maintenance and calibration of plant equipments.
  • Ensure plant housekeeping and follow 5S practices.
  • Identify near miss and improve opportunities for better EHS Practices, be a part of Human Performance Improvement Drive.
  • Operate Filling / packing line as per the standard practice.
  • To get training and participate in ERP (Emergency Response Plan) mock drills and firefighting drills.
  • In process and finished goods sampling.
  • Adhering to shift production volumes.
  • Following practices of safety and quality of the product as per standard.
  • Contribute to RCA (Root Cause Analysis), Risk Assessment, Process Review, PSSR (Pre Startup Safety Review), Projects and other initiatives as and when required.

Summary Of The Role

Ensure shift production targets are achieved, keeping safe practices and product quality at the highest priority, focusing on continuous improvement, capability enhancement and ensuring safe operation in plant.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  • To support and achieve daily production targets in collaboration with shift operation team.
  • Perform all plant manufacturing activities and maintain the process parameters through DCS (Distributed Control System).
  • Operate critical equipments of process plant.
  • Record process parameters in predefined formats and in SAP Systems.

Education / Certification
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science / Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
Requirements (education, experience, competencies, and specific job requirements):
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in industry related to Batch or continuous operations, Chemical and compounding –preferably solid / powder material handling including Extruder operation.
  • Experience in operating DCS (Distributed Control System) and various instruments in process industries.
  • Exposure to excellent Quality Management Systems and EHS practices
  • Exposure in 5S
  • Exposure to SAP will add an advantage to this position.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
