Job summary

Efs-Facilities-Services in India is seeking a skilled Fire Technician to join the Facilities Services team. The role covers installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire safety systems across client sites, ensuring compliance with Indian safety standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Fire Safety Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Certification in fire safety systems installation and maintenance from a recognized authority or institution.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in fire safety system maintenance within facilities services or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of Indian fire safety regulations, standards (NBC/IS codes), and compliance requirements.
• Proven experience with fire alarm control panels, sprinkler systems, and portable fire extinguishers.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals related to fire safety equipment.
• Good communication skills in English and local languages to liaise with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair fire detection and suppression systems including alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, and emergency lighting.
• Conduct routine testing and preventive maintenance of fire safety equipment to ensure compliance with Indian fire safety codes and standards.
• Perform detailed fire risk assessments and report findings with recommendations for improvements.
• Respond promptly to fire safety malfunctions or alarms, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with safety officers and facility managers to develop and update fire safety protocols and emergency response plans.
• Stay updated on the latest fire safety technologies, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure continuous improvement of fire safety services.
• Train and guide junior technicians and support staff on fire safety equipment handling and maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate with external fire safety auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
