Job summary

MRF Corporation is seeking a seasoned Fire Safety Systems Manager to safeguard fire protection across all plants. You will lead design reviews, oversee installations, and ensure regulatory compliance with NBC, NFPA and IS codes.

Key tasks include establishing SOPs, selecting suitable equipment, reviewing BOMs and OEM manuals, and driving digital governance for maintenance data. This role demands hands-on expertise and strong oversight across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Fire/Mechanical/Electrical with 10+ years in fire protection system design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) with 15–20 years in fire protection system design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• In-depth knowledge of NBC Part 4, NBCS 2026, NFPA, FM Global and IS codes for fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adequacy, suitability, quality, reliability and readiness of fire protection systems across all MRF plants.
• Perform adequacy studies of fire protection systems per regulatory and design requirements.
• Establish SOP/Policy for installation, commissioning, handover and maintenance of fire protection systems.
• Decide on best appliances considering environment, hazards, and maintenance feasibility.
• Support plants with BOM, drawings, certificates, OEM manuals and warranties.
• Verify design, calculations and drawings meet applicable standards.
• Oversee installation projects to ensure quality of materials and workmanship.
• Collaborate on commissioning and testing of fire protection systems.
• Prepare maintenance calendars and monitor implementation.
• Audit maintenance documents and AMC-related records; ensure timely closure of issues.
• Create repository of firefighting equipment with maintenance schedules.
• Develop uptime measurement and strive for 100% uptime; propose digital governance solutions.
• Drive centralization of fire protection systems at plant and corporate levels.
• Lead hazard analysis efforts (HAZOP/HAZID/Dust Explosion Potential) with partners.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• The Fire Safety Systems Manager will be responsible to ensure adequacy, suitability, quality, reliability and readiness of fire protection system throughout all MRF Plants.
• Perform adequacy study of fire protection system of all the plants in terms of practical requirement, regulatory requirement, fire code, design aspect, operationality, maintenance feasibility and reliability
• Establish and maintain SOP / Policy for selection, installation, commissioning, handover and maintenance of fire protection system in MRF considering local, national and international codes and best industrial practices
• Decide on best suited appliances appropriate for our industry, environmental condition, hazard, emergency protocol, operation and maintenance feasibility
• Support plants in finalizing Bill of Quantity, drawings, specifications, relevant certificates, OEM manuals, warranty certificates, preferred make for any fire protection system requirement
• Verify the design, engineering calculations and drawings for all fire protection system requirements from plant to ensure requirements of relevant standards are met
• Oversee fire protection system installation projects in plants to ensure quality of supplies and workmanship
• Collaborate with engineering team for the commissioning & testing of fire protection system to ensure reliability
• Assist plants to prepare inspection and maintenance calendar of fire system, oversee the implementation and monitor the effectiveness
• Audit and verify the maintenance documents including AMC related documents and follow up with plant team for the timely closure of issues if any
• Advice plants to create repository of firefighting equipment with their maintenance schedule and records
• Find solutions for long term issues and repetitive troubles in the existing fire protection system
• Develop methodology to measure uptime of firefighting system and achieve 100% uptime
• Bring digital solution for improved governance of the maintenance indicators and documentation
• Discover suitable solution for centralization of fire protection system at plant and corporate levels
• Drive process hazard analysis study such as HAZOP, HAZID, Dust Explosion Potential etc. through competent partners. Validate the findings and recommendations
• Drive the implementation of the finalized recommended actions coordinating with relevant stakeholders. Track the effectiveness of the implemented control measures

OTHER REQUIREMENTS :

• In-depth knowledge of fire codes and building regulations such as NBC Part 4, NBCS 2026 requirements, NFPA, FM Global and Indian Standard code of practice for designing, installation and maintenance of fire protection and detection system
• Hands-on expertise in design evaluation, hydraulic calculation of fire suppression system
• Proven ability in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex circuit faults related to fire alarm system
