Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an STP Operator to join the Facilities / Operations team in Chennai. The role requires 2 to 12 years of experience and an ITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Location is Sholinganallur, Chennai.

The incumbent will operate and monitor the STP daily, ensure proper treatment processes, and manage associated equipment and parameters, with focus on quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

ITI or diploma in mechanical, electrical, environmental engineering or relevant field.
2 to 12 years experience in STP or similar environment.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) on a daily basis.
Monitor the complete treatment process including screening, equalization, aeration, clarification, filtration, and disinfection.
Operate and monitor pumps, blowers, agitators, filters, dosing systems, and sludge handling equipment.
Monitor parameters such as pH, TDS, COD, BOD, DO, and chlorine levels as required.
Maintain proper MLSS, sludge levels, aeration, and chemical dosing.
Carry out routine inspection of STP equipment and identify abnormalities.
Perform basic troubleshooting of pumps, motors, blowers, valves, and control panels.
