Job summary

Vestas Blade Factory in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu, India, is seeking a Skilled/ Semi-Skilled NDT professional to conduct rigorous inspection of wind turbine blades. The role requires UT/PAUT, thermography, and hands-on NDT training for trainees in a manufacturing setting.

ASNT Level II with UT experience (≥3 years) is mandatory. The position involves shift work, safety-first operations, and maintaining detailed NDT records to meet client requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or related disciplines.
• ASNT Level II required with UT Experience minimum of 3 years.
• Candidates should be willing to work in a manufacturing environment and in shifts.
• Good physical fitness and willingness to perform shop-floor activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily NDT inspection on shop floor and site as required.
• Calibrate NDT equipment with records.
• Responsible for maintenance of NDT equipment.
• Perform thermography inspection of wind turbine blade.
• Perform Conventional UT and PAUT in wind turbine blade.
• Provide NDT on job training to trainees.
• Reparation NDT reports with results.
• Evaluate PAUT raw data per customer specifications.
• Review customer specifications and scopes of work, examine pipe metallurgy and prepare detailed NDT procedures.
• Review subcontractors' tender documents and technical qualifications.
• Assist EHS Department on subcontractor assessments/audits.
• Review and approve subcontractors' NDT submissions.
• Ensure records are maintained for all NDT activities to demonstrate achievement of client requirements.
