Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Technical Writer Lead to guide a team of writers across refinery and petrochemical projects. You will develop and maintain SOPs, operating manuals, maintenance procedures, and training materials, ensuring alignment with client standards.

You will coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and other engineering teams to gather inputs and ensure timely, high-quality documentation delivery.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical with 10–12 years of experience.
• Lead and deliver high‑quality technical documentation for refinery/oil & gas projects.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for inputs, reviews and approvals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of technical writers supporting refinery and petrochemical engineering projects.
• Develop, review, and maintain SOPs, operating manuals, maintenance procedures, and training manuals.
• Convert inputs from PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, control narratives, and vendor documents into clear content.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, HSE, Operations, Maintenance, and Document Control teams.
• Drive documentation quality through templates, style guides, technical reviews, and version control.
• Monitor workload, delivery schedule, productivity, review cycles, and risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of technical writers supporting refinery and petrochemical engineering projects.
• Develop, review, and maintain SOPs, operating manuals, maintenance procedures, commissioning/startup manuals, shutdown/TAR documentation, training manuals, and technical reports.
• Convert inputs from PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, control narratives, cause and effect matrices, specifications, and vendor documents into clear user-focused content.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, HSE, Operations, Maintenance, and Document Control teams for inputs, reviews, and approvals.
• Drive documentation quality through templates, style guides, technical reviews, version control, comment resolution, and client submission readiness.
• Monitor workload, delivery schedule, productivity, review cycles, documentation risks across assigned projects.

Strong technical writing, editing, content structuring, and documentation quality assurance capability.

• Good understanding of refinery and petrochemical process units, plant operations, maintenance, safety, and engineering documentation lifecycle.

Work Experience

BE/B.Tech in Mechanical 10-12 Yrs

Lead the creation, review, standardization, and delivery of high-quality technical documentation for refinery, petrochemical, and oil & gas projects. Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering, operations, maintenance, HSE, commissioning, and client teams to produce accurate operating manuals, SOPs, maintenance procedures, technical reports, training content, and project deliverables aligned with client standards and industry practices.
