Job Title: PACS Support Engineer – Healthcare IT Systems

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented PACS Support Engineer to join our healthcare IT team in Bangalore. This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in PACS administration, RIS, DICOM, HL7, and healthcare imaging systems. You will be responsible for providing L1/L2 support for imaging informatics systems across modalities such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Mammography, ensuring seamless operation and compliance with healthcare standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide L1/L2 technical support for PACS and related imaging informatics systems (RIS, DICOM, HL7).
- Act as the first point of contact via the service desk for PACS-related issues across hospital departments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues impacting PACS functionality.
- Monitor system health and performance, escalating issues to vendors or internal teams when required.
- Coordinate with radiologists, technicians, and IT teams to ensure timely resolution of incidents.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data privacy standards (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
- Document incidents, problems, and resolutions in ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, Jira).
- Support image routing, storage, retrieval, and archival workflows in line with hospital policies.
- Participate in system upgrades, backups, and scheduled maintenance activities.
- Train end users on PACS usage and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in PACS administration and support within a healthcare IT environment.
- Strong knowledge of DICOM, HL7, RIS, and Radiology workflows.
- Experience supporting modalities like CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray.
- Familiarity with Windows Server administration and VMware environments.
- Experience with ITSM/service desk tools (ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare IT setting.
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance and security best practices.
- Vendor certifications in PACS, DICOM, or HL7 systems.
