Job summary

SWN Shipping, a shipping support company, invites applications for the post of Technical Superintendent (TS) based around CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai. The role centers on technical management of oil tankers, including maintenance, purchases, and compliance with class and other statutory requirements.

Ideal candidates will have 2–3 years as chief engineer on tankers and 1–2 years of shore experience, plus a First class Motor (Tanker) certificate.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years as chief engineer on tankers, and 1-2 years of shore experience.
• Gas experience is an added advantage.
• Good communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Technical management of oil tankers, especially product tankers.
• Overseeing maintenance and purchases of vessels.
• Managing dry-docking and up-gradation.
• Liaison with class and statutory bodies for surveys and classifications.
• Management of cargo operations and its machineries.
• Follow up on vetting and HSQE compliances.

It extends support to its foreign principals (Ship Owners and ship managers) based out of Dubai and Europe. Company is presently doing commercial management and technical management support of tankers operating worldwide for its foreign principals. The company is based out of Dubai and Mumbai. This requirement is for vessels owned /operated / chartered by our foreign clients.

Location – CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai

Responsibilities Key Deliverables – Technical management of oil tankers

• Selected candidate will have to manage oil tankers especially product tankers
• Overseeing complete technical management of vessels including maintenance and purchase.
• Managing dry-docking and up-gradation.
• Liasion with class and other statutory bodies for compliance with survey and classification requirements.
• Management of cargo operations and its machineries.
• Follow up on vetting and HSQE compliances.

Cognitive abilities

Build relationships with managers/owners and provide feedback on management services for customer satisfaction. Ability to work in accordance with documented procedures with attention to detail and accuracy. Possess good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with different stakeholders with different backgrounds and ranks. Ability to deal with foreign nationals. Ready to work as per different time zones.

Education Qualification

• First class Motor (Tanker) certificate

General Experience

2 to 3 Years as chief engineer on tankers and 1-2 Years of shore experience. Gas experience is added advantage. Good communication skills and computer skills
