DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT- MECHANICAL SYSTEMS
Responsibilities:
1. Design and Development.
- i. Design. Design including customer satisfaction/New Functionality/Quality
- Assurance/Test Methodology and testing of integrated systems, components, and test prototypes to validate design assumptions and identify areas for improvement.
- ii. Product Development. Development new products or improving existing ones. Realization of mechanical principles, including mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, and kinematics.
- iii. System Design. To designing mechanical systems, including mechanical advantage, kinematics and dynamics.
- iv. Material Selection. Selecting Materials and manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness.
- v. Analysis and Simulation. To perform analysis and simulation to validate design performance, reliability, and efficiency.
2. Commercial Tendering/ Business Development.
- i. Opportunity Identification/ Tender Preparation. Prepare and submit technical proposals and tenders for commercial offers/Expression of Interest/ Request for Information/Projects.
- ii. Technical Evaluation. To evaluate technical requirements and specifications of tenders, ensuring compliance with client needs / certification / regulations.
- iii. Solution Development/Customization. Develop technical solutions and designs to meet client requirements and project specifications.
- iv. Cost Estimation . Estimate costs associated with mechanical engineering projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- v. Tender Writing . Tender writing and proposal development including technical/specification and certification compliance.
- vi. Technical proposal Development . Developing technical proposals and solutions that meet client requirements e.g. Request for proposal.
- vii. Risk Management. Identifying and mitigating technical risks associated with tenders and projects like non compliances/Time/ Cost overrun.
- viii. Collaboration and cross Functional Team. Collaborate with Sales teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful tender submission and project execution.
- ix. Client Relationship Building. Building and maintaining relationships and external and internal clients and stakeholders.
3. Project Management and Documentation.
- I. Technical Skills. Proficiency in CAD Software (e.g. Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor, and documentation tools (e.g., SharePoint, Documentum).
- II. Attention to details. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- III. Project Management. Understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- IV. Regulatory Compliance. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO9001:2015 / AS9100 rev D).
- V. Change/Version Management. Managing document changes and updates ensuring version control and approval.
- VI. Documentation Management. Specific documentation management systems and processes like QAR/PAT/ATP/PDR/CDR/Joint Report etc.
- VII. Design Document Creation/Technical Writing. Creating and maintaining design documents, including drawings, specifications, and reports. Strong technical writing skills and ability to create clear, concise documentation.
- VIII. Knowledge Management. Maintaining knowledge bases and documentation repositories.
- IX. Document Review and Approval. Reviewing and approving documents for accuracy and completeness.
4. Common Role.
- I. Collaboration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical,
- software, and manufacturing engineers.
- II. Design for Manufacturability. Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) principles and experience with manufacturing processes including route card generation and inventory management.
- III. Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk
- Inventor, Auto CAD), analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS), and Programming
- languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, HLL).
- IV. Project Managemen t: Understanding of project management principles and methodologies. Utilization of Project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and its applications.
- V. Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- VI . Analytical skills. String analytical and problem -solving skills.
- VII. Documentation: Create and maintain design documentation, including drawings, and technical reports
Educational Qualifications/ Experience.
B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical related discipline.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Auto CAD), analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS), and programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, HLL).
34 years of relevant experience.
