Job summary

Kanerika Inc. seeks a Technical Project Manager with a strong software development and Data Engineering background to lead complex technical projects. You will drive SDLC, agile ceremonies, and collaboration between engineers and business stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have 8–15 years of experience, CSM/PMI-ACP or similar certification, and practical exposure to ETL/ELT, data platforms, and data modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–15 years of experience, with at least 4 years in a Technical Project Manager, Project Manager, or Scrum Master role, and prior software development or data engineering experience.
• Strong background in Data Engineering with experience in ETL/ELT, SQL, Python, Data Warehousing, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or similar platforms.
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, or equivalent Agile certification is mandatory.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Trello, or Azure DevOps.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, software development, data engineering, APIs, and development pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software and data engineering projects.
• Bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating requirements into technical data solutions.
• Own the SDLC and project delivery lifecycle, ensuring Agile and Scrum best practices are followed.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and demos.
• Identify and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and resolve project issues and conflicts.
• Oversee task breakdowns, sprint tracking, effort estimation, resource planning, and timelines.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Developers, Architects, and Product teams to align solutions with business objectives.
• Drive projects involving data engineering, ETL/ELT pipelines, data platforms, data warehouses, and data modernization.
• Monitor progress using Jira or equivalent tools; ensure DevOps practices, data quality, testing, deployment, and release management.

What You Will Do:

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong technical background in Data Engineering, with experience in one or more technologies such as ETL/ELT, SQL, Python, Data Warehousing, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of software development, data engineering, system architecture, APIs, and development pipelines.
• Hands-on exposure to data engineering projects, data platforms, data migration, or data modernization is highly preferred.
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, or equivalent Agile certification is mandatory.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Trello, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, SDLC, project planning, risk management, and delivery management.
• Strong stakeholder communication, team leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exposure to AI/ML or Generative AI projects is an added advantage.
