Persistent Systems in Vadodara seeks an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead large-scale Banking and Payments initiatives in a fast-paced SAFe environment. You will drive end-to-end delivery across multiple teams, aligning business objectives with technology strategy and ensuring on-time, on-budget outcomes.

You will provide technical leadership for MDES programs, manage risks and dependencies, and mentor teams while collaborating with product, security, and external partners to deliver

About Position:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale, business-critical technology initiatives within the Banking and Payments domain. The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of technical expertise, project leadership, Agile delivery experience, and stakeholder management capabilities. This role requires driving end-to-end delivery of complex engineering programs, ensuring alignment between business objectives, technology strategy, and execution while working in a fast-paced SAFe Agile environment.

What You'll Do:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional, and multi-team engineering programs.
• Drive planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of strategic Banking and Payments initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership for MDES programs, including tokenization and digital wallet technologies.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, and delivery milestones.
• Ensure successful deployment and operational readiness of digital payment platforms.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Teams, Infrastructure Teams, Security Teams, and external partners.
• Facilitate effective communication and alignment across business and technology stakeholders.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and delivery constraints.
• Drive Agile delivery practices and ensure adherence to Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe methodologies.
• Support backlog prioritization, sprint planning, release planning, and roadmap execution.
• Ensure alignment between business requirements, technical architecture, and implementation plans.
• Monitor delivery metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive operational excellence across engineering and delivery processes.
• Support adoption and improvement of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Coordinate customer onboarding, integration, and deployment activities.
• Lead governance meetings, status reviews, and executive reporting.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Support high-availability, mission-critical payment systems operating at enterprise scale.
• Encourage collaboration, innovation, and delivery excellence across project teams.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 10 to 15 years of overall experience in Software Development, Technical Program Management, or Project Management.
• Proven experience leading large-scale technology projects within Banking, Payments, FinTech, or Financial Services environments.
• Strong technical background with hands-on understanding of Java-based applications and enterprise platforms.
• Experience delivering complex programs from initiation through production deployment and operational support.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience working with payment platforms, digital wallets, tokenization, and transaction processing systems.
• Hands-on experience with Agile frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
• Experience working in cloud-based and service-oriented architecture environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and release management practices.
• Strong project planning, risk management, dependency management, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Experience managing multiple cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage executives and technical teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience driving technical discussions and influencing architectural decisions.
• Ability to operate effectively in high-scale, high-availability, and regulated environments.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and relationship management skills.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams and enterprise delivery models.
