Job summary

Persistent Systems is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery for BFSI projects in a distributed environment. The role requires 14+ years total experience and 6+ years in project management, with a strong track record managing mid-to-large scale initiatives.

You will partner with product owners and Scrum masters, oversee scope, budget, risks, and governance, and ensure on-time, within-budget outcomes while mentoring teams across onshore and offshore locations.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with 6+ years of project management experience and 14+ years of overall experience in BFSI domain. The ideal candidate will independently manage one or more projects end to end including interfacing clients in a geographically distributed environment

What You'll Do:

• Accountable for planning, orchestrating, and delivering strategic initiatives including operational, and IT deliverables.
• Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit.
• Manages medium to large-scale projects often involving multiple internal and external stakeholders with geographically distributed team
• Directly manages all aspects of the project life cycle and oversees all phases of a project.
• Oversee the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope
• Provide direction and support to project teams ensuring alignment with organizational goals
• Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress
• Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.
• Manage changes to the project scope project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
• Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
• Report and elevate to management as needed
• Defines project governance, create and present project report to leadership
• Partners with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to track Agile development milestones and support Agile practices as needed.
• Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
• Ensure resource availability and allocation
• Facilitate the definition of project scope goals and deliverables
• Manages team relationships to ensure effective delivery.
• Facilitates problem-solving and resolves stakeholder conflict.
• Teaches, coaches, and mentors team members to remove roadblocks and drive project execution.
• Utilize industry best practices techniques and standards throughout the entire project execution
• Use and continually develop leadership skills
• Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy adjustments and progress

Expertise You'll Bring:

• BFSI Domain knowledge focusing on capital markets
• Strong business acumen, strategy and cross-industry thought leadership
• 6+ years of technical program management experience with 3+ years as a Senior TPM and/or TPM lead
• 3+ years of experience in application development projects
• Software development experience in Java, Restful API, SQL and preferably as an engineering manager experience
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and building 2-3 year roadmaps and quarterly PI planning
• Ability to understand the why and how for technical items and refine epics into detailed stories
• Awareness of latest technologies and Industry trends
• Basic understanding of Cloud and GenAI technologies and their applications
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally
• Experience in building partnerships, mobilizing and motivating teams, influencing others at all levels of an organization, and driving change to effectively deliver on projects in a cross-functional environment
