Job summary

Tech Mahindra in India seeks an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead enterprise application and platform service delivery. You will coordinate offshore and onsite teams, manage customer communications, govern delivery commitments, and ensure transparent, quality outcomes while working with architects, developers, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders.

The role requires strong technical awareness and proven ability to manage complex, multi-team delivery with accountability and governance.

Qualifications

• 12–15 years IT experience with 8+ years in project delivery and customer-facing roles.
• Started hands-on in technical roles (developer/DevOps/automation) and progressed to delivery leadership.
• Experience managing distributed onsite-offshore teams, governance, and reporting.
• Proficient with JIRA, ADO and executive-level presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery across application support, deployment, and modernization initiatives.
• Manage offshore and onsite technical teams with clear ownership, prioritization, and delivery discipline.
• Track milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, SLAs and customer commitments.
• Serve as primary offshore customer-facing delivery coordinator for governance and status updates.
• Lead status reviews, governance calls, release readiness discussions, and action closure.
• Communicate delivery progress, risks, mitigation plans, and improvements clearly.

Role Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead enterprise application and platform service delivery. The role will manage technical teams, coordinate onsite-offshore execution, drive customer communication, govern delivery commitments, and ensure predictable outcomes with quality and transparency.

This is not an operations/people manager role

The candidate must have strong technical awareness to work effectively with architects, developers, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, service management, and customer stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery, Customer & Governance Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery across application support teams (Deployment, Val&Test, Webhosting & Automation products) , enhancements, releases, modernization, and operational improvement initiatives.
• Manage offshore and onsite technical teams with clear ownership, prioritization, accountability, and delivery discipline.
• Track milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies, SLAs, action items, and customer commitments.
• Serve as the primary offshore customer-facing manager for delivery coordination, governance updates, escalations, and status communication.
• Lead status reviews, operational reviews, governance calls, release readiness discussions, and action closure forums.
• Communicate delivery progress, risks, issues, mitigation plans, dependencies, and improvement actions clearly and professionally.

Technical Coordination Responsibilities

• Work with technical teams to understand solution options, delivery impacts, technical risks, defects, incidents, deployment challenges, and dependencies.
• Facilitate technical discussions and translate customer priorities into delivery plans, backlog items, release plans, and execution actions.
• Coordinate incident reviews, root cause analysis, remediation tracking, preventive actions, UAT coordination, production validation, and service improvement actions.
• Maintain technical awareness across enterprise applications, web applications, APIs, databases, cloud or hybrid hosting, DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and infrastructure dependencies.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer-facing presence.
• Strong experience in customer expectation management, escalation handling, executive communication, and stakeholder alignment.
• Proven ability to manage distributed onsite-offshore teams, workload, priorities, utilization, productivity, and delivery commitments.
• Ability to drive meetings, governance reviews, status reporting, issue resolution, and action closure with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving, conflict management, negotiation, influencing, coaching, and team leadership skills.

Education, Experience & Certifications

• Bachelors degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 12-15 years of overall IT experience, including 8+ years in project delivery, technical delivery management, application support management, or customer-facing delivery roles.
• Must have started career in hands-on technical roles such as developer, DevOps engineer, Automation engineer, or similar technical delivery roles, and progressively grown into technical leadership, project management, or delivery management responsibilities.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as JIRA, ADO, Executive Presentations.
• Experience managing distributed teams and leading customer governance with presentations, delivery reporting, risk management, release coordination, and escalations.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, ITIL certification is preferred.
