Job summary

Neo4j in Bengaluru is seeking a Technical Onboarding Engineer to help enterprise customers launch resilient graph environments. You will bridge signed contracts to production‑ready ecosystems, leading infrastructure milestones including cloud provisioning, security hardening, networking, and data modelling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role.
• Hands-on production workloads in AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Deep networking proficiency: VPC/VNet, routing, peering, PrivateLink/Private Endpoints.
• Hands-on SQL/NoSQL experience.
• Experience implementing IAM: SSO (OIDC/SAML) and RBAC.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex business requirements into tailored technical solutions.
• Lead technical discovery sessions with enterprise customers.
• Instatiate Neo4j AuraDB environments or self-managed clusters across cloud providers.
• Implement baseline system hardening and encryption, enforce least-privilege access with SSO/RBAC.

• Help customers configure observability tools and best-practice backups.
• Produce architecture diagrams and ADRs for onboarding projects.

About The Job

Neo4j Technical Onboarding Engineers play a critical role in supporting our enterprise customers early in their journey to ensure the absolute success of their architectural foundations. As a Technical Onboarding Engineer, you will bridge the gap between a signed contract and a production-ready ecosystem. You will serve as the trusted technical advisor, leading new customers through critical infrastructure milestones—including cloud provisioning, security hardening, networking, data modelling, and application integration. Sitting at the heart of our customer-first culture, you will shape tailored onboarding blueprints, orchestrate complex delivery workstreams, and guarantee a predictable, accelerated time‑to‑value. For our fully managed AuraDB cloud customers, you will leverage automation to optimise data modelling, enterprise connectivity, and application health. For self‑managed environments, you will apply rigorous Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and platform engineering practices to deliver secure, resilient graph clusters across hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solution Architect, Solution Engineer, Onboarding Engineering, Customer Success Engineering, or Technical Consulting).
• Hands-on experience with production workloads in at least one major cloud provider ecosystem (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Deep technical proficiency in core networking infrastructure, including VPC/VNet architectures, routing protocols, peering, and PrivateLink/Private Endpoints.
• Hands-on experience and technical proficiency in SQL or NoSQL databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Proven track record implementing Enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM), including SSO (OIDC/SAML) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) design.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ETL/CDC platforms and data ingestion.
• Experience with Linux administration, containerisation, and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, or managed container environments).
• Hands-on experience with graph databases (ideally Neo4j).
• Familiarity with modern observability stacks (Grafana/Prometheus, Datadog, CloudWatch, Splunk).
• Exposure to cloud compliance frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA) and data residency deployment patterns.

Responsibilities

• Drive customer value by translating complex business requirements into tailored technical solutions that solve core business challenges and accelerate cloud adoption.
• Lead complex technical discovery sessions with enterprise customers to align on success criteria, KPIs, milestones, and mitigation strategies for project risks.
• Guide the instantiation of Neo4j AuraDB environments or self-managed clusters across AWS, Azure, and GCP, establishing secure network architectures utilizing private endpoints and IP allow lists.
• Implement baseline system hardening, TLS/SSL termination, encryption-at-rest protocols, and enforce least-privileged access through enterprise SSO and RBAC configurations.
• Architect robust data ingestion pipelines (bulk imports, stream processing, Change Data Capture) and advise development teams on Neo4j driver optimization, connection pooling, and retry logic.
• Assist customers in configuring enterprise observability tools for logs and metrics, while delivering best-practice workshops on Cypher query performance and backup/restore planning.
• Produce high-quality technical deliverables—including architecture diagrams, Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), and a next-step backlog to seamlessly transition customers to Professional Services and Cloud Operations teams.
• Synthesise field insights and lessons learned to continuously iterate and optimise Neo4j’s global technical onboarding methodology and frameworks.
