Job summary

YASH Technologies is seeking a hands-on Graph Platform Engineer to join our foundational team in Pune. You will build, configure, and operate a unified knowledge graph abstraction layer atop database instances, supporting internal client teams with both cloud-managed and self-hosted graph deployments.

You will write middleware APIs, provision Azure infrastructure using IaC (Terraform/Bicep), optimize queries, and enforce multi-tenant security.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, 5–10 years of experience in graph/platform engineering.
• Bachelor's or Master's in IT/CS or related field; strong scripting/backend skills.
• Experience building middleware/API layers and working with cloud-hosted and self-hosted graph DBs.

Job Title: Platform Engineer- Graph

Job Summary:

We are looking for a hands-on Graph Platform Engineer to join our foundational team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, configuring, and operating a unified knowledge graph abstraction layer that sits on top of database instances to be consumed by internal client adopting teams. You will directly implement and manage both cloud-managed (such as Neo4j Aura via Azure Marketplace) and self-managed graph database deployments. Your focus will be on rolling up your sleeves to write middleware APIs, provision Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, optimize query performance, and ensure secure multi-tenancy for internal engineering teams.

Relationships: Reports to Software Project Manager.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• Builds and deploys a robust middleware/API abstraction layer that hides database-specific topologies (cloud-managed vs. self-managed) from downstream internal consumer teams.
• Provisions, configures, and operates both cloud-managed graph services (via Azure Marketplace) and self-managed graph database clusters on Azure infrastructure.
• Implements multi-tenant access controls, database isolation, and security boundaries to securely partition data domains for separate internal adopting teams.
• Writes automation scripts, data loading utilities, and backup/restore routines across graph database environments. Collaborates with internal teams to understand consumption patterns, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and optimize traversal and Cypher queries.
• Maintains and improves services once live by measuring availability, latency, connection pooling efficiency, and overall system health.
• Develops, implements, and documents best-practice policies, connection SDKs, and developer guides for new projects or onboarding initiatives.
• Engages in incident resolution, performance tuning of JVM memory settings (heap/page cache), and proactive system monitoring.
• Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art graph technologies, evaluating and benchmarking best-possible database options alongside Neo4j.

Technology:

• Graph Databases: Neo4j (Enterprise, Cypher, Causal Clustering) and exploration of alternative graph options.
• Programming & Scripting: Python, Go, or Java for middleware and API development.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform or Bicep. Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes.

Previous Experience and Competencies:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Strong computer literacy with deep, hands-on implementation experience in distributed data platforms and graph databases.
• 5 – 10 years of seniority (hands-on execution focused rather than purely architectural).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong background in backend software engineering and API/middleware design.
• Extensive practical experience managing both cloud-managed DBaaS and self-hosted database deployments on Azure.
• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
• Ability to debug, profile, and optimize slow-running queries and handle high-concurrency connection management.
