Job Title Technical Manager Job Description Toyota Advanced Logistics (TAL), started per April 1st 2026 as a newly formed company, combining the Warehousing activities of Vanderlande (Netherlands), Viastore (Germany), Bastian Solutions (USA) and Toyota L&F (Japan). The focus of the new company is on Warehouse Automation, utilizing the strengths of all former companies to offer a wide variety of automation solutions to our customers. At TAL, we are seeking a passionate and ambitious leader, capable of driving operational excellence, stakeholder satisfaction, process standardization, and continuous improvement across our global procurement operations. We are still setting up organization structures, processes and standards for TAL as new company, and hence transformation will be an import task in shaping the future, which requires strong leadership.
Relevant Experience Required 14–18 years of overall experience, with minimum 5–7 years in senior technical and operational leadership roles managing software development teams or departments delivering high-performance, low-latency, enterprise‑grade software products. Proven experience in strategic oversight, workforce management, and execution excellence within a scaled Agile environment, preferably in a product‑led, platform‑oriented organization.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent. Minimum 4+ years hands‑on experience as a Software Engineer or Architect working with Dot Net (.Net) based enterprise applications. Strong grounding in enterprise software architecture, distributed systems, and cloud‑native development.
Ability to define, articulate, and execute improvement areas aligned with organizational and product vision. Proven experience driving MVP/MVO delivery, ensuring predictable outcomes using delivery metrics across velocity, quality, and throughput. Strong analytical mindset to balance technical excellence with pragmatic delivery in complex environments. Experience influencing direction in collaboration with Solution and Software Architects.
Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and grow high‑performing teams, fostering an environment where individuals and teams can reach their full potential. Experience managing 4+ Scrum teams and 30+ engineers, including performance management, career development, PDPs, and PIPs. Hands‑on experience with hiring, onboarding, offboarding, and capacity planning in collaboration with HR. Strong people leadership presence with the ability to build high-performing, inclusive team cultures.
Minimum 3+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with strong coaching capability in Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe. Strong advocate of continuous improvement across people, processes, and tools. Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and driving consistent ways of working across teams. Product development background with DevOps and automation‑first mindset is a strong plus. Experience delivering software with high levels of test and deployment automation (CI/CD). Technology & Architecture Expert knowledge of event‑driven, domain‑driven architectures using microservices and ubiquitous language. Working knowledge of containerized application development and deployment on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.) using Kubernetes. Experience with enterprise‑scale systems and cloud‑native platforms. Familiarity with TDD/BDD practices and modern engineering best practices is a plus. Warehouse automation or logistics domain knowledge is a plus.
Strong stakeholder management skills with experience collaborating closely with RTEs, Leads, CPO’s and Architecture teams. Acts as a primary escalation point for delivery, people, and technical risks; proactively mitigates impediments. Ability to clearly represent both business and technology perspectives across the SDLC. Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills; capable of influencing across a matrixed, multinational organization.
Working experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.) is a plus. Strong understanding of SDLC best practices, including coding standards, reviews, source control, testing, and operations.
Strong English communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities. Willingness to travel internationally (10–30%).
