Job summary

Cloudxtreme in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Java tech lead to mentor multiple agile PODs and drive end-to-end software delivery on Java, Spring, and cloud platforms. You will own technical plans, guide architecture, and collaborate with VISA for release planning.

The role requires hands-on coding, strong DS&A, and a track record of delivering scalable microservices with REST APIs, Kafka streaming, and modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Java coding; strong DS&A
• Experience leading 2–3 agile PODs; delivery focus
• Full stack engineering in Java tech stack; cloud exposure
• Strong Java, Spring framework, Spring Boot, REST/microservices
• Experience with streaming tech such as Kafka
• Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP)
• DevOps via CI/CD; code quality via Sonar and security tooling
• GenAI usage in software development
• Proficient debugging and Agile Scrum practices
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Mentor/upsill team members in emerging tech
• Background in payments architecture is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage 2–3 agile PODs to deliver on time and quality
• Single point of contact to VISA for the POD teams; act as development manager
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to gather requirements
• Coordinate sprint planning, execution and delivery against timelines
• Define architecture/design with VISA managers and translate into tasks
• Create user stories and document requirements; oversee Scrum ceremonies
• Set and enforce coding standards; review code for quality and consistency
• Ensure quality practices and security scans are applied in testing
• Identify risks and mitigate; manage cross-functional dependencies
• Foster continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing
• Mentor team members in new technologies

Role & responsibilities

• Expertise hands on Coding in Java, Knowledgeable in Data Structures and Algorithms
• Proven experience in leading multiple agile teams or PODs to deliver software in Java Development and cloud platforms
• Experience in Full Stack Engineering development using Java technologies
• Strong experience in Java, Spring framework, Srpingboot, REST APIs and Microservices architecture
• Experience in Streaming technologies like Kafka
• Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes), Cloud technologies (Azure / AWS / GCP) and DevOps implementation using CI/CD pipelines
• Strong background in SQL/PLSQL and databases
• Experience in assesing and improving Code Quality using tools like SONAR and Security vulnerability scans like Veracode
• Proficiency in usage of GenAI tools for software development
• Should be well versed with Agile Scrum practices and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to mentor and upskill team members in emerging technologies
• Background in payment systems architecture and implementation will be a added advantage.

Preferred candidate profile

• RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform Code Review and responsible for following and maintaining the coding standards as specified
• Lead and manage 2-3 agile PODs, ensuring on time and quality deliveries aligned with business objectives defined.
• Will be single POC to VISA for the POD teams and work as a development manager for 2-3 POD teams.
• Should be accountable for the delivery of the POD teams and be available for any discussions as per the needs.
• Collaborating with product owner / Business stakeholders in gathering and understanding the requirements.
• Co-Ordinate between the stakeholders and the POD teams for implementing the requirements, execution of the sprint cycle and delivering as per timelines decided.
• Work along with the VISA Managers in defining the Architecture and Design for the requirements
• Translate the requirement into a technical plan with tasks for each POD and come up with a release plan
• Be able to document the requirements into individual Stories
• Oversee the Scrum / Sprint ceremonies for individual POD teams
• Sets technical standards and conducts code reviews to maintain quality and consistency.
• To make sure all the quality practices/standards are being followed during testing of the solutions implemented as part of software delivery.
• Identify and monitor the risks on regular basis and create the mitigation plans to handle the risks.
• Help the team to Identify cross functional dependencies with external teams and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve them.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing across teams.
