Job summary

Opus Technologies is seeking a seasoned full-stack engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and a microservices architecture.

You will deploy on PCF or other cloud platforms, develop responsive front-ends with React, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. This role requires strong Java/Spring Boot skills and cloud experience.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms (PCF/Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Experience with ReactJS front-end and microservices.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities :

Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture

• Deploy and manage applications on PCF or other cloud platforms
• Develop engaging and responsive user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks such as React
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality products
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving our development processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Ensure adequate test coverage in Unit Testing, System Testing/Integration Testing and Performance Testing
• Mentor junior engineers and share your expertise
• Work in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Participate in PoCs (Proof of Concept) and help the department with the selection of vendor solutions, technologies, methodologies and frameworks
• Significant code development, code review, and day-to-day support duties
• Creates documentation such as user guides and software development guides for moderately complex projects.
• Assists team members in the development of applications, components, system to system interfaces and complete software solutions.
• Provides support on activities such development environment management, establish required connectivity, provision developer access to various tools and resources.
• Understands the maintenance, operational and runtime characteristics of the platform software.
• Strives to improve operational metrics and overall platform performance.

All About You

• Overall, 6-12 years of career experience into Full Stack Development ( Java, REST API, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Jenkins, Spring, ReactJS)
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring boot framework
• Experience with Restful API design and development
• Experience with PCF or other cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, with specific expertise in container orchestration using AKS or EKS
• Hands on experience in front end technologies such as ReactJS
• Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies
• Experience working on Microservices and Cloud Native Architecture.
• Experience leading and mentoring other engineers in a technical capacity.
• Experience with secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT)
• Experience delivering major pieces of functionality on time and on budget
• Experience solving scale, resilience, security, and robustness problems
• Experience debugging issues in a distributed system.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as Oracle or PostGreSQL, Mongo
• You understand functional and non-functional testing types to elaborate and estimate test efforts.
• experience with different SDLC practices (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe) and the delivery situations they are used for
• You have proficiency in using basic engineering principles for building and running mission critical software capabilities (security, customer experience, testing, operability, simplification, service-oriented architecture)
• Familiar with different application patterns to implement different types of business processes (e.g., APIs, event-driven-services, batch-services, web-applications, big data).
• Good communication skills both verbal and written with strong relationship building, collaborative skills and organizational skills.
