PACCAR India is seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead - Electrical Engineering to drive the design, development, and integration of automotive electrical systems for commercial trucks in Pune.

You will lead global cross-functional teams, oversee wiring harness architectures, CAN networks, and validation activities, delivering production-ready solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with knowledge of automobile domain.
  • 8-10 years of hands-on automotive industry experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Creo Parametric and Windchill.
  • Experience in Capital Harness Systems (Capital XC/Logic).
  • Knowledge of electrical system design, topology, and wiring harness development.
  • HV/LV harness design experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of automotive electrical systems and wiring harnesses for commercial trucks.
  • Strong expertise in Technical / Wiring harness / EDS / Electrical Architecture and program management.
  • Provide regular program status updates through weekly and monthly reports.
  • Design and Develop Schematics, Harness drawings, Installation drawings, and Harness CAD routing using Siemens Capital (Capital XC/Logic) and CREO Cabling.
  • Develop and support electrical system architecture, topology, and circuit design, including CAN communication and multicore wiring.
  • Perform 3D cabling, routing, packaging, and sheet metal bracket design ensuring manufacturability, serviceability.
  • Support integration of electrical systems across engine, chassis, cab, and sleeper assemblies.
  • Lead design reviews, issue resolution, validation activities, and root cause investigations for virtual and vehicle-level concerns.
  • Manage engineering data in PLM systems (Windchill), ensuring accuracy and version control.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver program milestones on time and with high-quality deliverables.
  • Mentor and guide engineers, providing technical direction and fostering engineering excellence within the team.
  • Manage complex assemblies, ensuring proper packaging and routing feasibility.
  • Experience in supplier coordination and management.
  • Track project progress, communicate risks and status updates, and support program planning through regular reporting and presentations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of reliable, production-ready electrical harness solutions that meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements.
  • Good understanding of vehicle lifecycles and new product development gateway management.
  • Hands-on experience and a strong understanding of the following tools and domains:
  • Contribute to EV/Hybrid vehicle projects and support development of electrical mounting and bracket interfaces
  • Experience in working with integrated engineering environments involving PLM, CAD, and manufacturing systems.
  • Understanding of end-to-end wiring harness development lifecycle, including design release and documentation
  • Exposure to automotive electrical system integration and cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience with EV/Hybrid systems Harness manufacturing experience is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of automotive electrical systems and wiring harnesses for commercial trucks.

Knowledge & Skills REQUIRED:

  • Strong understanding of electrical system design, topology, and wiring harness design and development.
  • Experience in wiring harness design (mandatory), including selection of wires, insulation, fuses, relays, connectors, and clips.
  • Exposure to high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) harness design
  • Good knowledge of truck systems and large assemblies
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawing standards
  • Ability to identify and resolve design and quality issues during validation stages.
  • Familiarity with wire harness manufacturing processes
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with global engineering teams
