Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Technical Lead for CSM - Shift Engineer to manage electro‑mechanical systems, energy efficiency initiatives, and maintenance across critical facilities.

You will lead an operation team, oversee budgets, and coordinate with vendors to ensure uptime and compliance in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or diploma in Electrical/Mechanical.
  • 3–5 years for graduates or 5–8 years for diploma in relevant facility management.
  • Experience in data centers/OTs/industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of safety principles in critical facilities.
  • Experience with vendor management and O&M spend.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage Electro-Mechanical equipment (HVAC, UPS, batteries, power distribution).
  • Manage operation team, track activities and assign jobs.
  • Responsible for KPI and SLAs in operations & sustainability.
  • Plan budgets for operation including cost control measures.
  • Roll out energy and Opex reduction initiatives at the facility.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules and shutdown plans.

Technical Lead - CSM - Shift Engineer

Academic Qualification: : Engineering Graduate/Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical engineering discipline.

Experience: : Minimum Graduate 3-5 year / Diploma 5-8 year of relevant experience in Critical Facilities like Data Centers/ OTs/Process Industries Monitoring & Management of utilities in terms of vendor management, O&M spend, Energy consumption, Spare Management, AMCs and Repair & Maintenance on SLA based services Managing engineering services manpower pool, outsourced contractors and OEM/ vendors Should have experience/understanding in integrating various passive equipment’s of Facility with IBMS (Integrated Building Management system) Should have experience/understanding in rolling out various initiations for the reduction of energy and opex spend at the facility Knowledge on safety principles and practices deployed in Critical Facilities Data Centers/ OTs/Process Industries

General Skills: Capable of handling Multiple Facilities Willing to relocate across India based business demand Good user level knowledge of MS Office -Word, Excel, Power-point and Outlook

Job Function, Role & Responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage all Electro Mechanical equipments such as HVAC high side and low side, PAC & Air conditioners, UPS & SMPS, Battery Banks, HT/LT distribution systems, DG/Transformers, Fire & Security Systems like Fire Alarm system, Gas based suppression systems-VESDA/FM200, Access Control, CCTV surveillance System, Rodent Replant system, Water leak Detection system PA Systems & Fire Hydrant System
  • Manage and maintain pool of operation team, track their activities assign jobs
  • Responsible for key Operations & Sustainability KPIs and SLAs
  • Plan and manage the budgets for operation including costing ( cost control , cost management measures)
  • Responsible for rolling out various initiations for the reduction of energy and Opex spend at the facility
  • Responsible for closure of passive equipment’s availability & performance issues with in defined SLA
  • Responsible for data collection and monitoring of timely records and reports submissions
  • Responsible for development of all maintenance related schedules and shutdowns in line with the criticality
  • Tracking logbooks, checklists and PPM schedules for a better management of engineering systems
  • Responsible for planning a critical spares list for all installations as per manufacturer’s recommendations and maintain inventory
  • Carry out Technical Audits for all installations at periodical intervals
  • Review the maintenance/service practices of Electro/Mechanical systems’ team to deliver quality work practices in line with the manufacturer recommendations
  • Adopt latest technology in Improving Equipment Life Cycle and reducing the maintenance & operational costs
  • Providing the documentation support to customer for Liaison with local authorities (SEB, PCB, Fire dept., etc) for various legal & statutory compliances
  • Evaluate and monitor performance of critical parameters of all resources (men & machine) with customer and vendors
  • Responsible for Vendor Management, which would include vendor selection, evaluation & conduct review meetings
  • Work towards the 'ZERO' down time and set up the practices to ensure the delivery of seamless service to Clients
  • Development and implementation of detailed operational procedures required to run data center operations in the mission critical environment
  • Responsible for weekly & monthly reports covering the spare parts consumption, Incident reports, Improvements with customer and vendors
  • Achieve Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements targets
  • Adhere to EHS policy & processes
  • Liaison with Facility infra head (Customer) for various signoff’s in regards to passive infra equipment’s SLA/uptime and energy saving sign off
  • He should be able to get sign off on various documents generated to customer
