Job summary

IQWorks is seeking a Technical Lead to own the platform's technical direction and mentor the engineering team. You will architect and ship across a modern web stack, writing and reviewing code, and setting standards for quality, security, and delivery.

You will work directly with the founders and product to turn roadmaps into shipped software, staying hands-on while guiding the team as the company scales.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with team ownership or major product ownership.

What We Are Looking For

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including time leading a team or owning a significant part of a product
• Deep proficiency building and shipping modern web applications end to end
• Strong command of TypeScript, with proficiency (or the ability to quickly become proficient) in a backend language such as Go or Python
• Experience designing and building on relational databases, including schema design and data-security practices
• Solid understanding of authentication, authorization, and secure application design
• Experience shipping and operating production systems on cloud infrastructure
• Track record of setting engineering standards and mentoring other engineers
• Ability to stay hands-on while leading — you still write and review code
• Effective use of AI as a force multiplier across the engineering workflow — designing, writing, reviewing, testing, and shipping — with sharp judgment about where human oversight is essential so quality is never compromised
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with product and founders in a fast-moving startup

Nice to Have

• Experience building multi-tenant SaaS with strict data isolation
• Familiarity with data privacy, security, compliance, or governance domains
• Experience integrating AI features into production products
• Experience across both frontend and backend systems
• Prior experience as an early or founding engineer at a high-growth startup
