Job summary

Luminous Power Technologies is seeking a senior Power Electronics Engineer in India to lead the design, analysis, and development of advanced inverters and energy storage systems. The role requires mentoring engineers, coordinating with electrical, mechanical, PCB, and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration and robust performance.

The candidate will conduct system studies, design verification, and documentation to support product development and manufacturing, while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of power electronics, inverters (including solar/hybrid) and testing.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor devices (MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC, GaN).
• Experience with design validation, BOM reviews, and document generation.

Key activities include but not limited to:

• Knowledge of product development & testing of Non-Solar, Solar, Hybrid & Battery Less three Phase Inverter.
• Knowledge of SMPS design & testing.
• Advanced knowledge of power electronics converter topologies (DC/AC and DC/DC).
• In-depth understanding of semiconductor device characteristics (MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC, GaN, Rectifiers, Switching Regulators).
• Power electronics system design & analysis, including selection/Design of magnetic components and layout optimization.
• Advanced skills in analog and digital circuit design & analysis.
• Experience with advanced multilevel topologies and packaging techniques.
• Strong background in thermal management of power converters and EMC/EMI mitigation techniques.
• Expertise in modeling and simulation software for power converter design (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice).
• Knowledge of product failure analysis.
• Responsible for technical deliveries of all tasks within Power Electronics product development.
• Conversant with various power electronics converter topologies.
• Hands on experience in using programmable power supplies, oscilloscope, Grid Simulator & Solar Simulator.
• Understanding of various design and simulation tools used for product development.
• Should have knowledge of product validation, benchmarking, BOM preparation, reviewing of schematic and PCB layout, report generation and product documentation
• Work Independently without monitoring and follow-up
• Developing innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability
• Strong skills in troubleshooting PCBs, analog & digital circuits.
• Understanding of EMI/EMC considerations and safety standards (UL/VDE/IEC/BIS/CCC).

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Power Electronics Development: Lead the design, analysis, and development of cutting-edge power electronics and power systems for Luminous Power Technologies' products, including inverters, Solar Inverters and energy storage solutions.
• Team Management: Lead and mentor a set of power electronics engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical designers, PCB layout engineers, and firmware developers to ensure seamless integration and optimization of power systems.
• System Performance Analysis: Conduct comprehensive power system studies, including load flow analysis, transient stability, to assess and enhance system performance and reliability.
• Circuit Design and Compliance: Perform detailed design and analysis of power electronic circuits, ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety regulations.
• Documentation and Procedures: Prepare detailed design documentation, schematics, Bills of Materials (BoM), and test procedures to support product development and manufacturing.
• Testing and Verification: Lead rigorous testing and verification processes for power electronics and power systems, both in laboratory and field settings, to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
• Technical Leadership: Participate in design reviews, providing expert guidance to drive continuous improvement and innovation in power electronics solutions.
• Production Support: Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to facilitate the transition of designs from R&D to mass production, addressing any design-related issues during the production phase.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure product reliability and performance.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products meet relevant industry standards and regulations.
