Overview

Roquette, a family‑owned global leader in plant‑based ingredients & pharmaceutical excipients, seeks a Technical Business Developer – Capsules in Mumbai to provide technical expertise in hard capsule technologies, improve performance, and develop value‑added applications with customers.

Responsibilities

1. Technical/Scientific Support
   • Serve as subject matter expert in hard capsule technologies, advising clients on capsule selection, performance, and new functionalities.
   • Act as bridge between customer requirements and internal R&D, TS&D, and Sales to address complex technical challenges.
   • Conduct technical advisory visits: optimize clients’ filling machinery use, maximize efficiency & product compatibility, and minimize incidents.
   • Respond promptly to client‑reported incidents, analyze production processes, troubleshoot issues, and determine appropriate protocols for resolution.
   • Prepare detailed visit and incident reports, documenting findings and actions in the CRM.
   • Conduct new or existing capsule validation/verification trials with machine suppliers such as IMA, Synthegon, or MG2.
   • Analyze incident data to diagnose root causes and collaborate with Production and Quality teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
2. Market Development & Business Growth
   • Identify and develop regional business opportunities in hard capsule applications across pharmaceutical & nutraceutical markets.
   • Attend trade shows and collaborate with global R&D teams to support innovation in capsule technologies and applications.
   • Partner with commercial and business development teams to expand market presence and establish strategic partnerships.
3. Training & Knowledge Sharing
   • Design and deliver internal regional training programs to strengthen technical expertise in capsule technologies.
   • Develop or propose seminars to ensure customer requests are met.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of hard capsule technologies, including material properties, manufacturing processes, filling performance, and stability considerations.
• Strong understanding of capsule behavior across different formulations and processing conditions.
• Ability to analyze complex technical issues and translate them into practical, scalable solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with a customer‑centric approach.
• Experience delivering technical training, workshops, and seminars at pharma customers.
• Technical‑mechanical competence, expertise in software systems and machine automation.
• Proficient understanding of manufacturing process protocols and handling of precision instruments and measurements.
• Geographical mobility within India.
• Proficient in English; other languages are an asset.
• Advanced degree (MSc, or equivalent) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical and/or nutraceutical industry, focusing on hard capsule technologies.
• Demonstrated experience in regional technical team collaborations and cross‑functional interactions (R&D, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, commercial).
• Experience supporting customer‑facing activities, including technical consulting, troubleshooting, and solution‑driven engagement.
