Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in India seeks a Senior Microsoft 365 Architect to own end-to-end M365 solutions, including SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, and Purview, with a focus on secure, scalable deployments and cost optimization.

You will act as the technical authority, govern architecture standards, engage CXOs and IT leaders, and drive governance, compliance, and integration initiatives across the Microsoft 365 stack.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Microsoft 365 architecture and solution design.
• Experience with SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Viva, Purview, Entra ID.
• Ability to lead architecture reviews and ensure security/compliance alignment.
• Proven ability to engage CXOs and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own overall M365 architecture, licensing, and automations.
• Define solution architectures and reference patterns for enterprise-scale M365.
• Make final design and integration decisions for platform.
• Ensure alignment with Zero Trust, security, and compliance.
• Govern quality via reviews and standards enforcement.
• Act as sole architectural authority for M365 decisions.
• Evaluate trade-offs in security, performance, cost, and UX.
• Partner with IT leadership and CXOs to translate requirements.
• Lead architecture workshops with enterprise stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory needs.
• Define DLP, retention, eDiscovery, Purview policies.

Role Summary:

Senior architectural leadership role with end‑to‑end ownership and decision authority over Microsoft 365 digital workplace solutions. Acts as the technical authority, trusted advisor, and final decision maker, ensuring secure, scalable, cost‑optimized solutions aligned to business outcomes. Combines deep M365 expertise with governance, people leadership, and executive engagement.

Key Responsibilities :

1.Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Own the overall Microsoft 365 architecture, Licensing Model and Automations covering SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Power Platform, Viva, Purview, Entra ID (Azure AD), and related enterprise integrations.
• Define solution architectures, design patterns, and reference architectures for enterprise‑scale M365 implementations.
• Make final decisions on platform design, configuration vs customization, extensibility, tooling, and integrations.
• Ensure alignment with Microsoft best practices, Zero Trust security model, Compliance and cloud‑first principles.
• Govern solution quality through architecture reviews, design approvals, and enforcement of technical standards.

2.Decision‑Making & Ownership

• Act as the sole architectural authority for all Microsoft 365 solution decisions.
• Evaluate and decide trade‑offs across security, performance, cost, scalability, and user experience.

3.Stakeholder & Executive Engagement

• Partner with business leaders, IT leadership, security teams, and product owners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead solution workshops and architecture discussions with CXOs, enterprise architects, and senior stakeholders.

4.Governance, Security & Compliance

• Ensure solutions meet enterprise security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Define and enforce DLP, retention, eDiscovery, records management, and information protection using Microsoft Purview.

Required Skills :

Hands‑on Microsoft 365 architecture and solution design.

Core M365 Workloads - SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Viva, Tenant management and Copilot preferable.

Identity & Security - Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, Identity Governance.

Power Platform - Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI.

Security & Compliance - Purview, DLP, retention, eDiscovery, Zero Trust concepts.

Integration & Extensibility - Strong knowledge of APIs, PowerShell scripting, integration patterns, and platform extensibility.

Certification :

• Microsoft 365 Solutions Architect / Administrator Expert
• Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ‑305 or equivalent)
• ITIL, TOGAF (nice‑to‑have)
