Job summary

Kriyadocs is seeking a hands-on Tech Lead to own design and delivery of full-stack features with a strong focus on LLM/AI integration and cloud-native AWS architecture. The role requires leading design discussions, mentoring the pod, and delivering scalable services end-to-end.

You will work on TypeScript/React and Node.js, shaping data models, API contracts, and engineering standards while collaborating closely with Product, QA, and DevOps teams to ship reliable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with hands-on full-stack delivery.
• Strong React and Node.js experience with performance focus.
• Hands-on LLM/AI integration in real products (AWS Bedrock, OpenAI/APIs).
• Experience designing and operating AWS workloads (Lambda, ECS, S3, IAM).
• Proven ability to own system design and write clear technical docs.

Job description

We are looking for a hands-on Tech Lead who writes production code daily, sets the technical bar for the pod, and turns ambiguous ideas into reliable, scalable services. You will own design and delivery of full-stack features end to end, with a strong focus on LLM/AI integration and cloud-native architecture on AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and ship full-stack features using TypeScript, React and Node.js — hands-on coding is the core of this role.
• Own technical design for new Innovation initiatives: architecture, API contracts, data models and trade-off decisions.
• Integrate LLM/AI capabilities into products and pipelines (e.g. AWS Bedrock, MCP-based tooling), including prompt design, evaluation and cost/latency tuning.
• Architect and run services on AWS with a focus on scalability, reliability, observability and security.
• Set and enforce engineering standards — code reviews, naming conventions, testing, documentation and secure coding practices.
• Mentor engineers in the pod through pairing, reviews and design discussions.
• Break down initiatives into deliverable increments; drive prototypes to production quickly and iterate on feedback.
• Collaborate with Product, QA and DevOps to plan, release and support what the pod builds.

Must-Have Skills

• Experience: 8+ years in software engineering, with recent hands-on full-stack delivery.
• Full-stack: Strong React (hooks, state management, performance) and Node.js (REST APIs, background jobs, event-driven services).
• LLM / AI: Hands-on integration of LLMs into real products — e.g. AWS Bedrock, Anthropic/OpenAI APIs, MCP, RAG, structured outputs.
• AWS: Designing and operating workloads on AWS (e.g. Lambda, ECS, S3, SQS, API Gateway, IAM, CloudWatch).
• Databases: Working experience with both MongoDB and PostgreSQL — schema design, indexing, query optimisation.
• Design & quality: Proven ability to own system design, write clear technical docs and review code rigorously.
• Leadership: Clear communicator who can lead technical discussions and mentor engineers.

Nice-to-Have

• Document processing experience — XML, HTML, DOCX parsing/conversion pipelines.
• Exposure to the scholarly publishing domain (journals, manuscripts, peer review, JATS).
• Containerisation and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
