Job summary

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories in India seeks a Senior Utilities & Maintenance Engineer to ensure safe, efficient operation of utility systems and electrical infrastructure across the plant.

You will lead preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance, manage automation, and support qualification activities. The role covers chillers, boilers, transformers, DGs, HT panels, and energy management, with emphasis on SH&E compliance, GMP alignment, and strong problem-solving in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining utility systems including chillers, boilers, transformers, DGs.
• Knowledge of PLCs and basic automation for troubleshooting.
• Understanding of SH&E norms and GMP/regulatory requirements.
• Ability to manage maintenance schedules and critical spares.
• Ability to read drawings and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Recognize hazards during maintenance and manage safety permits, LOTO, and JSA reviews.
• Plan and monitor preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance of electrical systems and utilities.
• Operate and maintain HT systems, HT panels, transformers, DG synchronization, and distribution networks.
• Ensure SH&E and GMP compliance and audit readiness.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and automation systems; monitor electrical parameters and energy use.
• Perform RCA for breakdowns and coordinate with vendors.

Job Summary

This role is for a Senior Utilities & Maintenance Engineer responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of utility systems and electrical infrastructure across the plant. The position involves executing preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance, managing automation systems, and supporting qualification and validation activities. The engineer will oversee equipment such as chillers, compressors, boilers, and generators, while ensuring adherence to SH&E norms, regulatory standards, and internal quality systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for recognizing potential hazards during critical maintenance activities and coordinating safety requirements through work permits, LOTO implementation, and JSA reviews to ensure full compliance with SH&E norms.
• You will be responsible for planning and monitoring predictive, preventive, and shutdown maintenance of electrical systems and utilities, maintaining good housekeeping, and ensuring availability of critical spares while minimizing consumption.
• Responsible for operation and preventive/breakdown maintenance of HT systems, HT panels, transformers, DG synchronization, and electrical distribution network.
• Should possess a valid Electrical Supervisor License as per statutory requirements.
• Ensure safe handling, troubleshooting, and upkeep of utility systems including compressors, boilers,, HVAC (AHU, chillers), and water systems. Cooling towers & related utilities
• Must have working knowledge of PLCs, controllers, and basic automation systems for troubleshooting and monitoring.
• Monitor electrical parameters, energy consumption, and ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.
• Execute maintenance schedules, maintain documentation, and ensure audit readiness (CDSCO/GMP compliance).
• Perform RCA for breakdowns, coordinate with vendors, and ensure adherence to safety practices and permit systems.

Energy saving projects , knowledge of Automations , interlocking, earth testing well versed with the computer system.
