Job summary

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories in India is seeking an Automation Systems Engineer to execute automation projects, qualify systems, and ensure reliable operations across pharma plants.

You will coordinate with vendors, manage project schedules, implement upgrades, and ensure cGMP compliance while driving maintenance and QC support. The role requires 6-12 years in electronics/electrical/automation, with familiarity in DCS/SCADA, MES interfaces, and instrument/calibration practices.

Qualifications

  • Educational qualification- Diploma/ Graduation in Electronics, Electrical, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or related field is mandatory
  • Minimum work Experience- 6-8 years of experience
  • Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting automation systems used in injectable manufacturing is desired
  • Exposure to supporting validation activities for automated systems, ensuring compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • To ensure that compliance (regulatory, statutory and legal) are understood, implemented and monitored on daily basis. To adhere to principles of Good Engineering Practices (GEP).
  • Data backup management of all systems at site as per predefined schedule.
  • Execute user management of all systems at site.
  • Perform GxP assessments and ensure all the systems are GxP complaint
  • Ensure all the systems are in validated state throughout the life cycle as per the regulations.
  • Modification of logic as per user requirement with Documentation and Qualification.
  • Carrying out system Annual Maintenance Contractor (AMC) along with vendor or coordinate with vendor to upkeep the system healthy at all times.
  • Involve and execute all the DCS projects at site, Upgrade and qualify the system as and when required.
  • Maintenance of control system against job orders.
  • Execution of planned maintenance actions through collaboration with stake holders.
  • Undertake any modifications / improvements required for overall efficiency and reduce future chances of breakdowns to achieve maximum up time of the equipment, control system and meet production requirements.
  • To initiate the modifications and new projects within the plant as per site objective.
  • Evaluate the instrumentation & automation requirement, review technical specifications of the instrumentation, and coordinate with Supply Chain Management (SCM) procurement of indented material.
  • Guide Supply Chain Management (SCM) with vendor information to ensure availability of materials on time for maintenance and new modifications.
  • Ensure site preparedness for external / internal auditors from automation prospective and take actions on observations to be in compliant.
  • Provide necessary training to production and Engineering Services Department (ESD) team.
  • Provide review & checks from technical perspective on projects.
  • Provide technical support to projects team, production and Quality Assurance initiating against job order & plant requirement.
  • Follow SAP maintenance module and closing job orders in System Application Product (SAP).
  • To bring about improvement in machinery availability, time bound repair of instruments (along with relevant records).
  • Responsible for priority assessment and decision marking as it related to trouble shooting diagnostics, assembly, repair and a protective maintenance of system and instruments in a cost effective manner.
  • To reuse and recycle instruments, etc. where ever possible.
  • Investigation calibration failures and failure between preventive maintenance and taking the corrective action.
  • To co-ordinate with the production team in identifying and implementing automation projects as per site objectives.
  • To maintain records / documents as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Trouble shooting with an objective of finding permanent solution.
  • To ensure the facility is as per site objectives at all times.
  • To ensure Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) implementation in his area as per Quality Management System (QMS).
  • To meet Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) targets for their area.

Job Summary

This role is for an Automation Systems Engineer responsible for executing automation-related projects and qualifying systems to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
