Job summary

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories in India seeks a Senior Utilities & Maintenance Engineer to ensure safe, efficient operation of utility systems and electrical infrastructure across the plant. You will lead preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance, manage automation systems, and support qualification and validation activities.

The role covers chillers, boilers, compressors, HVAC, and energy-saving initiatives, while ensuring SH&E compliance and adherence to internal quality systems.

Qualifications

• Educational qualification: Diploma or Graduation in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum work Experience: 3+ to 6+ years in maintenance of utility systems in pharma/FMCG/OEM industries.
• Experience with SH&E norms and quality systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor predictive, preventive, and shutdown maintenance of electrical systems and utilities.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of HVAC, pumps, blowers, and related mechanical equipment.
• Monitor system parameters such as pressure, flow, and temperature for efficient operation.
• Prepare SOPs, maintenance records, checklists, and logbooks.
• Ensure SH&E compliance and safety permit coordination (LOTO, JSA).

Job Summary

This role is for a Senior Utilities & Maintenance Engineer responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of utility systems and electrical infrastructure across the plant. The position involves executing preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance, managing automation systems, and supporting qualification and validation activities. The engineer will oversee equipment such as chillers, compressors, boilers, and generators, while ensuring adherence to SH&E norms, regulatory standards, and internal quality systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for recognizing potential hazards during critical maintenance activities and coordinating safety requirements through work permits, LOTO implementation, and JSA reviews to ensure full compliance with SH&E norms.
• You will be responsible for planning and monitoring predictive, preventive, and shutdown maintenance of electrical systems and utilities, maintaining good housekeeping, and ensuring availability of critical spares while minimizing consumption.
• To handle operation and maintenance of utility systems including HVAC (AHU, chiller), pumps, blowers, and associated mechanical equipment.
• To monitor and maintain system parameters such as pressure, differential pressure, flow, and temperature for efficient operation.
• To carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of pumps, valves, pipelines, and rotating equipment.
• To ensure proper functioning and alignment of mechanical components and attend leakages, vibrations, and abnormal noise.
• To prepare and update SOPs, Maintenance records, checklists, and logbooks.

To handled the Procurement , QMS, HVAC Validation, Computer system validation, Drawing approval, Design Load calculations of HVAC & Utilities.

To workout on MIS reports, Energy saving & water saving projects.

Energy saving projects , knowledge of Automations , interlocking, earth testing well versed with the computer system.

To ensure the adequate inventory of Utility, HVAC spares.

Qualifications

Educational qualification-Diploma / Graduation in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field is mandatory
Minimum work Experience-3+ / 6+ years of experience

• Exposure to monitoring and responding to utility alarms and troubleshooting system issues to maintain optimal system performance is preferred.
• Experience in preparing and maintaining documentation, including maintenance logs and operational checks for utility/water systems, is desired.
• Exposure in energy efficiency projects and utility upgrades and automation initiatives (BMS, SCADA) is preferred.
