Job summary

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. in India is seeking a Senior Utilities & Maintenance Engineer to ensure safe, efficient operation of utility systems and electrical infrastructure across the plant.

You will lead preventive, predictive and shutdown maintenance, manage automation systems, and support qualification and validation activities. The role requires handling chillers, boilers, compressors, HT systems, HT panels, transformers, and DG synchronization, while complying with SH&E norms and GMP

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
• 3+ to 6+ years of experience in maintenance/utility engineering.
• Experience with utility systems in pharma/FMCG preferred.
• Valid Electrical Supervisor License per statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance of electrical systems.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of HT systems, panels, transformers, DG synchronization.
• Ensure safety via permits, LOTO, JSA and SH&E compliance.
• Maintain energy efficiency and spare parts availability.
• Coordinate with QA for audit readiness (GMP compliance).

Job Description

Job Summary This role is for a Senior Utilities & Maintenance Engineer responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of utility systems and electrical infrastructure across the plant. The position involves executing preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance, managing automation systems, and supporting qualification and validation activities. The engineer will oversee equipment such as chillers, compressors, boilers, and generators, while ensuring adherence to SH&E norms, regulatory standards, and internal quality systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for recognizing potential hazards during critical maintenance activities and coordinating safety requirements through work permits, LOTO implementation, and JSA reviews to ensure full compliance with SH&E norms.
• You will be responsible for planning and monitoring predictive, preventive, and shutdown maintenance of electrical systems and utilities, maintaining good housekeeping, and ensuring availability of critical spares while minimizing consumption.
• Responsible for operation and preventive/breakdown maintenance of HT systems, HT panels, transformers, DG synchronization, and electrical distribution network.
• Should possess a valid Electrical Supervisor License as per statutory requirements.
• Ensure safe handling, troubleshooting, and upkeep of utility systems including compressors, boilers, , HVAC (AHU, chillers), and water systems.
• Cooling towers & related utilities
  • Must have working knowledge of PLCs, controllers, and basic automation systems for troubleshooting and monitoring.
  • Monitor electrical parameters, energy consumption, and ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.
  • Execute maintenance schedules, maintain documentation, and ensure audit readiness (CDSCO/GMP compliance).

• Exposure to monitoring and responding to utility alarms and troubleshooting system issues to maintain optimal system performance is preferred.
• Experience in preparing and maintaining documentation, including maintenance logs and operational checks for utility/water systems, is desired.
• Exposure in energy efficiency projects and utility upgrades and automation initiatives (BMS, SCADA) is preferred.
