Job summary

Essity's manufacturing plant in Ponda Goa seeks a Team Leader to drive shift performance. You will coach a production team, lead autonomous maintenance initiatives, and ensure safety, quality, and TPM standards on the line. Your role includes onboarding, coaching, and reporting KPIs to optimize efficiency.

Candidate should have a mechanical or electrical background with 5+ years in supervision, and be prepared to work in a shift-based environment at the Goa site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 5+ years in supervisory or team-leadership roles in production/manufacturing.
• Experience in planning, task delegation, performance tracking, and giving feedback.
• Willingness to work in shift operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach the production team to achieve shift results.
• Implement Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and drive loss elimination.
• Ensure safety, quality, TPM, and maintenance standards are met on the line.
• Conduct regular coaching, development conversations, and KPI reporting.
• Manage staffing, materials, and resources with cost-consciousness.
• Onboard and develop team members, lead performance reviews.

About the Role

The Team Leader is working on shifts and is one of the key positions of the operations department. It is ultimately responsible for the shift's operation results and development of employees. Provides leadership and coaching to the team.

What You Will Do

• Is a role model and accountable for performance & consequence management, coaching and education within their department.
• Lead and ensure the execution of the Autonomous Maintenance (AM) program.
• Coach and train the team in AM steps and processes, focusing on loss elimination and process improvements.
• Ensure adherence to essential operational standards and procedures within the team and on the production line.
• Oversee the implementation of product initiatives and projects.
• Ensure team's compliance with operational standards (safety, quality, maintenance, center lining (CL), cleaning, inspection, lubrication (CIL), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), etc.).
• Lead onboarding processes and facilitate continuous learning for the team.
• Ensure the execution of standard leadership processes to achieve operational results e.g. Goal Setting Process, Development Conversations, etc.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Act as the first point of contact for managing incidents related to safety, quality, and environmental concerns, as well as handling disciplinary actions.
• Lead and facilitate loss elimination initiatives using problem-solving tools, aiming to improve processes and eliminate inefficiencies.
• Ensure the accurate collection and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the team's progress and success.
• Manage the production team's resources, including staffing, materials, and technology, while maintaining a focus on cost-consciousness (e.g., managing absences and material usage).
• Foster knowledge sharing within the team and ensure that expertise is effectively transferred to team members.
• Optimize team resources during shifts to achieve the expected production results, ensuring efficient use of time, materials, and labor.

Who You Are

• Bachelor Mechanical /electrical
• +5 year of experience in supervisory or team leadership role, with proven success in leading and motivating teams.
• Relevant experience in production / manufacturing environment.
• Experience in team management, including planning, task delegation, performance tracking, and providing feedback to team members.
• Ready to work in Shift operations
