Job summary

Finsmart Accounting in Pune, Maharashtra, is seeking a Team Lead- US Tax to manage tax return projects, provide guidance to the tax team, and maintain client relationships.

You will review workpapers, mentor staff, contribute to BD, and ensure compliance with deadlines and regulations. This is an on-site role with ProConnect, QBO, and Xero experience valued.

CPA license and 4+ years public tax accounting are preferred; Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of public tax accounting experience.
• CPA license valid and current.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with tax accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients on tax returns, tax research, tax communications, and other requested deliverables.
• Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and mentoring to the Tax Team.
• Build strong client relationships and provide tax planning, consulting, and technical expertise.
• Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and engagement timelines.
• Communicate proactively with clients and engagement partners regarding project status, client service opportunities, and significant matters.
• Perform detailed reviews of tax workpapers and tax provision calculations prepared by associates.
• Participate in and contribute to business development initiatives and growth strategies.
• Identify and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Provide innovative tax planning solutions and review complex income tax returns.
