Job summary

HDFC Bank Limited is seeking an experienced audit professional in Mumbai to lead and execute bank-wide audits in line with RBI guidelines and internal policies. You will oversee planning, sampling, risk assessment, and reporting while coordinating with senior management and branch teams.

The role requires deep domain knowledge in bank audits, strong analytical skills, and proven leadership to manage auditors, meet deadlines, and drive process improvements across multiple departments.

• Finalize audits, discuss and close with branches/units.
• Communicate audit results to senior management with improvements.

• Validate closure evidence for audit issues.
• Supervise and mentor the audit team.

Job description

• Review pre-audit preparation and sampling.
• Allocation of audit areas to the auditors based on expertise and mandays available.
• Carry out audit of various areas / activities / departments as per the RBI guidelines / internal policies.

Audit reporting

• Prepare audit reports detailing findings, risks, recommendations, and Management action plans.
• Risk grading and opinion formation.
• Audit finalization, discussion, and closure (including visits to branches / units).
• Effectively communicate audit results to key stakeholders including Senior Management, highlighting areas of concern and opportunities for improvement.

Compliance

• Monitoring and follow up with auditee Management for audit issues resolution.
• Validate evidence submitted for closure of audit issues.

Team management

• Manage and supervise the team of auditors.
