Job summary

HDFC Bank Limited is seeking an experienced Audit professional to lead and execute internal audits across branches and units in alignment with RBI guidelines. The role emphasizes risk assessment, reporting, and stakeholder communication at senior management level.

You will oversee audit teams, allocate tasks, and ensure timely closure of audit issues, with strong emphasis on analytical skills, governance, and adherence to internal controls.

Qualifications

• Domain knowledge of bank audits (Wholesale/SME/Credit Administration).
• Proficiency in audit methodologies, techniques, and standards.
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends and assess controls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for audit reporting.

Responsibilities

• Audit execution: Review pre-audit prep and sampling; allocate areas to auditors based on expertise and mandays; perform audits per RBI guidelines and internal policies.
• Audit reporting: Prepare reports detailing findings, risks, recommendations, and management action plans; risk grading and opinion formation; finalization and closure of audits with branch visits; communicate results to senior management.
• Compliance: Monitor and follow up with auditee management for audit issue resolutions; validate evidence for closure of issues.
• Team management: Manage and supervise the team of auditors.
• Cross-cutting: Ensure effective communication of audit results to key stakeholders including Senior Management.

• Review pre-audit preparation and sampling.

Audit reporting

• Prepare audit reports detailing findings, risks, recommendations, and Management action plans.
• Risk grading and opinion formation.
• Audit finalization, discussion, and closure (including visits to branches / units).
• Effectively communicate audit results to key stakeholders including Senior Management, highlighting areas of concern and opportunities for improvement.

Compliance

• Monitoring and follow up with auditee Management for audit issues resolution.
• Validate evidence submitted for closure of audit issues.

Team management

• Manage and supervise the team of auditors.
