Job Purpose: To execute risk-based audits and thematic reviews across the Retail Liability Operations portfolio and provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of operational controls, regulatory compliance, customer servicing processes, and risk management frameworks. The role is responsible for audit fieldwork, control testing, issue identification, root-cause analysis, and development of high-quality audit observations.
Audit Execution:- Execute audits in accordance with approved audit plans, audit programmes, and Internal Audit methodology. Perform walkthroughs, control testing, sample reviews, and validation procedures. Assess compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and established operating procedures. Evaluate adequacy and effectiveness of process, operational, and supervisory controls. Ensure timely completion of assigned audit activities.
Thematic Reviews:- Participate in thematic reviews covering emerging risks, recurring control gaps, customer-impact issues, and regulatory focus areas.
Analyse trends, exceptions, operational incidents, complaints, and audit observations.
Identify systemic control weaknesses and recurring issues.
Support development of practical and sustainable recommendations.
Audit Observations & Reporting:- Identify control deficiencies, process gaps, policy deviations, and operational risks. Perform root-cause analysis and assess associated risks and impacts. Draft clear, concise, and evidence-based audit observations. Support preparation of audit reports and discussion materials.
Issue Validation & Follow-up:- Validate implementation of agreed corrective actions.
Review supporting evidence submitted by auditees.
Identify overdue or ineffective remediation actions.
Escalate significant concerns to the Team Lead.
Stakeholder Coordination:- Liaise with business, operations, compliance, and support teams during audit assignments.
Obtain information, documents, and explanations required for audit testing.
Discuss preliminary observations with auditee representatives.
Maintain professional and constructive working relationships.
Audit Quality & Continuous Improvement:- Maintain complete and accurate audit workpapers.
Ensure compliance with Internal Audit methodology and documentation standards.
Support data analysis and audit analytics initiatives.
Contribute to continuous improvement of audit practices and testing approaches.
Chartered Accountant (CA) / MBA (Finance or Operations) / Graduate with CIA or equivalent
Certification in Internal Audit, Governance, or Compliance (e.g., CISA, CRMA).
