Job summary

Shipco-IT in Pune, Maharashtra, seeks a motivated Team Lead to manage a customer-focused accounting team, driving process improvements and ensuring client success through effective communication.

You will oversee AP/AR and related R2R activities in a SSC setup, mentor 20–40 FTE, and collaborate cross-functionally to enhance efficiency and controls while complying with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum 5 years in AP/AR; knowledge of R2R in a Shared Services Center environment.
• Experience supervising 20-40 FTE.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with SAP, QuickBooks, NetSuite.

• Maintain performance per KPIs set by management.

What You'll Do…

• Leader is responsible for ensuring quality customer service by managing a team of employees through motivation, recognition, coaching, training, and problem-solving.


• Invests in team members' capabilities; helps define career goals and development plans; provides constructive feedback and advice.


• To accept direction / responsibility and maintain performance levels as per the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) assigned by the management.


• Ensure adherence to company policies, financial regulations, and statutory requirements.


• Regularly assess and mitigate process risks while staying updated on accounting practices.


• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and vendors, resolving issues promptly


• Collaborate on cross-functional projects to enhance efficiency.


• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve controls within the accounting functions.

What You'll Need…

• Bachelor's/master's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.


• Minimum 5 years of experience in AP/AR, good to have knowledge of R2R domain, preferably in a Shared Service Center environment.


• Handled 20-40 FTE under the span.


• Strong leadership and team management skills.


• Proven ability to coach and develop team members.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ideally with experience in accounting software like SAP, QuickBooks, NetSuite.


• Working knowledge of relevant accounting principles and regulations.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
