Job summary

Curative Minds Noida is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure quality compliance across the manufacturing and assembly of construction equipment and machinery. The role covers incoming material inspection, in-process quality, final inspection and supplier quality, defect analysis and continuous improvement to meet drawings, specifications and ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T.
  • Hands-on experience with measuring and inspection instruments.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality documentation and CAPA.

Responsibilities

  • Incoming Quality Inspection: inspect materials and components against drawings and specs.
  • In-Process Quality: perform stage inspections during fabrication, welding and assembly.
  • Final Inspection: verify dimensions, fitment, welding, paint and hydraulic/electrical connections.
  • Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action: RCA using 5 Why, Fishbone and QC tools.
  • Supplier Quality: coordinate with suppliers on quality issues and NCRs.
  • Quality Documentation: maintain inspection reports, NCRs, CAPA and traceability.
  • Continuous Improvement: pursue Kaizen, 5S and process variation reduction.

Job description

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to ensure quality compliance across the manufacturing and assembly process of VERT's construction equipment and machinery.

The candidate will be responsible for incoming material inspection, in-process quality, final inspection, supplier quality, defect analysis and continuous improvement, ensuring that machines and components meet approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Incoming Quality Inspection
  • Inspect incoming raw materials, fabricated components, machined parts, bought-out components and assemblies.
  • Verify components against approved drawings, specifications, purchase requirements and inspection standards.
  • Perform dimensional inspection using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Dial Gauge, Gauges and other measuring instruments.
  • Verify quality documents such as MTC, inspection reports and supplier certificates wherever applicable.
  • Identify, segregate and report non-conforming materials.
2. In-Process Quality
  • Conduct quality inspections at various stages of fabrication, welding, machining, painting, hydraulic assembly and machine assembly.
  • Ensure adherence to approved drawings, SOPs, process parameters and quality standards.
  • Conduct first-piece and stage-wise inspections.
  • Monitor critical dimensions and process parameters.
  • Identify defects, rework and rejection trends and coordinate corrective actions with Production.
3. Final Inspection & Machine Quality
  • Conduct final inspection of completed machines before dispatch.
  • Verify dimensions, fitment, welding, paint finish, hydraulic connections, electrical connections, attachments and overall machine assembly.
  • Prepare final inspection reports and ensure closure of identified defects.
  • Support machine testing and pre-dispatch inspection.
4. Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action
  • Investigate internal and customer quality issues.
  • Perform RCA using 5 Why, Fishbone and 7 QC Tools.
  • Prepare and follow up on NCR, CAPA and corrective action reports.
  • Ensure effective implementation and closure of corrective actions.
  • Track rejection, rework and defect data to identify recurring problems.
5. Supplier Quality
  • Coordinate with suppliers for quality-related issues and rejections.
  • Communicate quality requirements and inspection standards to suppliers.
  • Support supplier corrective actions and vendor quality improvement.
  • Participate in supplier inspections/audits when required.
6. Quality Documentation & Systems
  • Maintain inspection reports, NCRs, rejection reports, calibration records and other quality documentation.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 / Quality Management System requirements.
  • Prepare daily/weekly quality reports and quality performance data.
  • Ensure proper traceability of inspected components and machines.
7. Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to reduce rejection, rework, customer complaints and process variation.
  • Participate in Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with Production, Purchase, R&D, Service and Stores teams to improve product quality.
Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Mechanical Quality Control / Quality Assurance.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T.
  • Hands-on experience with measuring and inspection instruments.
  • Knowledge of 7 QC Tools, 5 Why, Fishbone, RCA and CAPA.
  • Understanding of welding, fabrication, machining and assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, inspection plans and quality documentation.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
Preferred Experience

Candidates from construction equipment, heavy engineering, automobile, agricultural equipment, fabrication, machinery manufacturing or similar industries will be preferred.

Experience with hydraulic components, heavy fabrication, welding and machine assembly quality will be an added advantage.
