Job description

• Prepare an average of 800+ sales and use tax returns monthly for level 3-4 clients, applying expert-level compliance knowledge and best

practices.

• Consistently implement new clients, including onboarding and establishing tax data files in various formats.
• Foster client relationships with regular communication, proactively suggesting process improvements and resolving complex issues in

partnership with CSAM.

• Transition clients to more junior staff and serve as a mentor/coach to 4+ staff members.
• Serve as a technical coach and mentor across teams, developing curriculum for training programs and leading training sessions.
• Actively lead or participate in 1-3 MSO special teams, championing innovation and process improvements.
• Participate in interviews and contribute to staff selection and development.
• Utilize technology, including Microsoft 365, Excel, and Vertex Indirect Tax Returns (VITR), to create or enhance efficiencies and automation

tools; recognized as an Innovation Champion.

• Review and reconcile client tax data for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and take corrective action.
• Prepare and maintain monthly client summary reports and documentation. Initiate electronic filings and payments, collaborating with other

staff to ensure timely submissions.

• Track and resolve notices from taxing jurisdictions, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution.
• Exercise significant independent professional judgment to resolve complex tax reporting problems.
• Implement high-level process improvements and prepare formal documentation of internal processes and procedures.
• Contribute to the departmental knowledge base and influence team performance metrics.
• Accommodate additional work hours during peak monthly processing periods (typically the 5th20th of each month).
• Perform other duties and participate in projects as assigned.
